RCL (867), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Apr 18, 2008 Not a bad saison, but perhaps a bit one dimensional. Lots of lemon peel and some yeastyness. Pretty pleasant drinking.
DKTN (51), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle, 750 ml. Hazy particulate yellow, with a diminishing white head. Good lacing. Sour aroma, but complex on the palate with a salty, sweet, and sour all in one drink. Dry finish. My first saison, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I look forward to drinking more of thi style. jehoey (636), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 27, 2008 750 ml bottle shared with Friends at Boxers Cafe, Huntingdon: Aroma was full and rustic featuring spices and perhaps even some wild things. poured slightly hazy gold with ample carbonation and 2 fingers of head that disipated, partially becaue I think the glass needed to be cleaned better. Flavor was full on spices, cumin and ginger with a bit of smokiness and a citrus snap. Addictingly dry. bubbly mouthfeel. refreshing but the spices were maybe a little overdone, and I couldn’t get into the smokiness in a saison. sinkr (116), Lusby, Maryland, USA Apr 24, 2008 Bomber->tulip: Pours a large, white, rocky head atop of a murky, orange body. No malt flavor detected, but floral and citrus hops and a horse blanket yeast aroma. The body is light, the texture is oily and the flavor’s duration is average with sweetness, acid, and bitterness being light.
Real clean finish and has a fruity taste, but not a beer I could drink regularly, though this is good for the once in awhile jaunt. Linus_Stick (1354), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 15, 2008 A decent saison but a little too sweet for me. Aroma was average. Some light malt and light fruit with a bit of yeast. Pour was a nice cloudy murky orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was very sweet. Honey, apple, pear and a strong yeast bite with a sweet light malt and stickiness to the aftertatse. A little tartness comes out as it warms but not enough to balance the sweetness. Nice strong biting carbonation.
