sinkr (121), Lusby, Maryland, USA Apr 24, 2008 Bomber->tulip: Pours a large, white, rocky head atop of a murky, orange body. No malt flavor detected, but floral and citrus hops and a horse blanket yeast aroma. The body is light, the texture is oily and the flavor’s duration is average with sweetness, acid, and bitterness being light.
Real clean finish and has a fruity taste, but not a beer I could drink regularly, though this is good for the once in awhile jaunt.
NaturalIce (73), South Orange, New Jersey, USA Jul 19, 2008 Decent beer. Had a bottle at Gaslight in South Orange, NJ. Made the mistake of drinking this after the V12. For this reason, the beer was almost flavorless but very enjoyable nonetheless. thornecb (975), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jul 18, 2008 Pours deep gold into a tulip. Fluffy white micro head recedes to skim surface leaving no lacing. Caramel malt and candi aromas. Upfront sweet honey and biscuit which turns to pine in the middle. Lasting, dry and slightly sour finish. JoeMcPhee (3643), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pale golden beer with a thick white head. Aroma is decent, light apple/pear fruitiness underlying a nice spicy black pepper/clovey character. Nice dry palate with a bit of crusty breadiness and a lingering wheatiness. Warming bring up more spiciness and loads of fruitiness as well. Cherries and a light berry character as well. Some light citrus on the back. It’s quite nice, but it really lacks the rusticity that I normally enjoy in a good saison. ajm (265), USA Jun 30, 2008 I give it a good flavor score because it tastes more of earth than of hops, which I respect and enjoy. Nice hop flavor too, don’t misunderstand, but this is much more balanced than I usually encounter in saison. Chipper (30), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Pours a nice orange/amber color with a big off-white and lasting head. A little sweet and fruity upfront, and finishes clean and slightly bitter. Good stuff.
