Commercial Description:
Ruby richness in the form of a Belgian inspired ale of 10% alc. by volume. Richness, ripe fruit flavors and their rewards await you. So simple in it’s creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature’s most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you.

This was an excellent example of a strong Belgian ale. Raisiny and plummy with alcohol, spice and sugar enhancing the flavor. I would love to sit by the fire with the lovely beer.

Thanks to argo0 for sharing. Pours a hazy with some yeast chunkiness, deep fruit juicy amber with a fizzy bubbly head. Aroma is oxidized fruits, over-ripe plums and peaches, raisin, soy oxidation, sweet caramel malts and orangey citrus yeastiness with light alcohol. More oxidation in the flavor, some soy, weird paper astringency, very tannic, and grape-skinny, fruity esters, grapefruit and orange rind- and more old malty sweetness. Finishes a bit oxidized and metallic.

750mL bottle, from 2002, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a hazy reddish orange with a small off-white head. Nose is slightly oxidized with some tart red fruits, caramel, a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is also slightly tart, but not altogether in a bad way, with some dark fruits and oxidation.

750mL bottle, from 2002, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a dark, clear orange-amber color; creamy light-tan head with mixed-bubbled lacing. Lots of caramel, dried dark fruits, and honeyed sweetness in the aroma; well-oxidized and soft. Relaxed carbonation. Lots of dried caramel, acidity citrus, and dark fruits / raisins; messy, sweet beer with lots of chewy oxidation; decent enough; pleasant candy sugar and acidity fruitiness; reasonable. Medium finish: dark fruits, citrus, and bread.

btl shared by Springslicker. A very cherry aroma for me. Golden brown pour with gooey clinging white head and lace. Very tart cherry flavor. A semi sweet start and a semi dry finish. Light sourness that mark it as very unique. Carbonation a bit aggressive for me. Again a very unusual beer that was a real pleasure to drink. thanks again Jay for sharing another beer I never expected to see a full bottle of. You are the man:)
