COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange with a small whitish head. Low carbonation. Mildly sour aroma. Flavor has a great sweet and sour balance. Mildly hopped; dry, bitter finish. Some cherries and other fruit in the flavor. Absolutely delicious.

The color is absolutely stunning. Dark amber color with goldish tint. The taste was spicy with fruity notes. A little on the sweet side, but very good regardless.

Cage & Cork served in a tulip. Pour was a dingy, cloudy copper with 3 inches of wispy off-white head. Nose is strong yeast, malt, wheat, cellar, musk, and rain water. Taste is wheat, spices, malt, and booze. Though the ABV isn’t 100% masked, it is still fantastically blended for 12%, and its all done very smooth. This is a very tasty strong ale, despite the 3.2 rating.

Bottled on Sept 18 2009. Served in the upper 40 degree range. The pour is a hazy copper-amber with a foamy, heady two-inch top. The aroma is sprinkled with desirable scents of wheat, malts, grains, and yeast. The taste also has a nice balance of bitterness, wheat, and a bit of alcohol that leaves a hoppy ending. A decent strong ale with a smooth texture.

The aroma and flavor are based on a hoppiness carried throughtout the palate. The hop flavor is pure, but a bit too bland for me. The color is bright amber with a nice frothy head.

Bottled on 10/5/07. Poured translucent medium amber with a creamy head and some bigger sediment in there. The aroma picked up sweet banana and clovey notes over aged caramel and toffee notes.. vanilla and a touch of oxidation accented.. warm alcohol-fueled fruity undertones. The flavor found more of the fruit and caramel at the core, with white peppery and clovey accents throughout.. whatever hop presence it had faded, but it aged gracefully.. finished fruity and warm, but nowhere near 12%. Medium-plus bodied on the palate with low carbonation.. spicy and very well balanced.. dry and complex. I can’t believe I hadn’t rated it.

Aged a few? years. Pours bright rusty orange. Aroma of sour lemons and a little spice, maybe cloves. Big mouthfilling carmel malt and very fizzy. Layers of flavor with sweet juicy fruit first, then a hint of sourness, finishing with dry toast and sherried raisons. Evident alcohol. Big, complex and well-balanced.

An unassuming pour. Lighter than I expected. Light brown/copper. Decent head dissipates quickly in my St Bernardus chalice. Caramelized hoppy cider flavor. Nutty and grainy and a little oaky. Medium mouthfeel nearly perfect. Lively and lasting with mild alcohol astringency coming in behind the flavors from the nose. Reminds me of a bigger Jack Daniels 1866 Oak Aged American Ale, if my memory of that short-lived beer serves me. Alot less hoppy than most Victory’s, but the hops are there. Overall this is a very nice beer.
