metsbcd (82), Connecticut, USA Jun 28, 2008 Great beer. Split the large bottle with a few people at a tasting. It was like a party in my mouth. BlackMail (55), Evergreen, Colorado, USA Jun 23, 2008 Poured a rich olden with a short lasting head. Aroma alcohol as well as with the taste. The flavor is sweet and the beer is full bodied. jeckenroth (81), Charlestown, Massachusetts, USA Jun 15, 2008
Beautiful copper color with a thick but quick head. Very thick. Malty with metallic taste and strong alcohol finish. Hops and fruit dominate the front with sugar in the middle. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2008 Wow! Impressive. Pours a copper color with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, yeast, fruit. Tastes of fruit with yeast, and hops and an slightly hot alochol finish,. posikyle (165), Alabama, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pours an orange/gold color with a thick head and a wonderful fruit/malt aroma. Mouthfeel is very thick, almost stout-like, with some spice undertones coming through a malty flavor. Watch out for this one, got me pretty buzzed off one bottle. jthg (66), Austin, Texas, USA May 27, 2008 The first thing you sense when smelling this beer is a sweet fruity aroma from the yeast. This sweetness turn into the empty sweetness that is so typical of candy sugar in beer as you start to drink which is the dominate flavor of this beer (but, not in a bad way). The fruity-ness in the aroma is matched by a rasin quality in the taste.
Overall a good beer. One worth tasting with friends a couple more times! thewolf (5623), Kolding, Denmark May 24, 2008 Bottle @ Kolding Bryglaug Americans tasting.
[thank you, SecretSanta!]
Pours light hazy coppery-orange with a light frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and lots of raisins. Well vinious. Pleasant high carbonation and fine mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely sweet, yeast, caramel, raisins and plums. But there is just too much alcohol in here. nimbleprop (819), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA May 18, 2008 Sampled at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. Pours a cloudy, rosy yellow with a cloudy, tight white head. Delicious aroma of sweet tarts and sour cherries. Flavor is soft with fruits, hay, flower petals and perfume. Soft and chalky on the palate. Very drinkable and was a hit with others at the tasting.
