3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 WLG423 (167) - Connecticut, USA - APR 15, 2010
Dark amber body with a light toast colored head. Aroma is doughy with some slightly sweet toast and grass. Mouth feel is initially very carbonated and light. Bitter and slightly sour. Grassy sweetness is apparent. Finishes out with a nice bitterness. Booze is hidden well behind the yeasty body. Overall, an enjoyable Victory brew.

Pours a cloudy orange from a bomber with a foamy but quickly dissipating head. Has a nice malt base that has a fruit flavor I can’t quite place - perhaps orange or apple. Carbonation fizzle gives it a nice feel in the mouth. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. This was much better than I expected it to be.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 PJClarke (1407) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 10, 2010
A deep cloudy amber with a long lasting foam. Rustic apple juice aromatics bear wafts of peppery spice and vinous richness. In the mouth it is rocket fuel. Big, bold alcohol burns the mouth and mellows down into deep woody complexity and tangy fruit. Herbal characters may also be noted giving an airy, fresh nature to each sip. Oranges and white grapes turn to sweet caramel as the beer warms up and a hint of hop becomes apparent on the nose. If you can get you hands on this, definitely do. Mine was a bargain too!

Yeasty, copper orange color with an active bubbly head. apple and belgian yeast aroma
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 daleharshman (664) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 1, 2010
750 ml bottle from Total Wine in Tustin ($8.99). Nicely aged -- the label says that it was bottle on 26 February 2008. Pours a murky orange-ruby with two fingers of off-white head. Aroma is on the complex side and includes noticeable hops (orange, flowers, perfume/soap), Belgian-esque yeast, and some bready malts. Flavor is slightly sweet malts and some fruit tones, but it has a hot alcohol burn on the back end which dominates. Dry and semi-sweet finish, but again that alcohol presence is too strong. I quite like a big strong Belgian ale, but the key is to find that balance and to hide the alcohol -- maybe Victory should reduce this to a V8?? (667, 264)
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 kungfujesus (14) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 27, 2010
Decent pour, with a nice off white head. Off the bat the aroma is yeasty and slightly sweet. The first taste is nice, popping with delicious dried fruit flavors and yeasty undertones. This has a great mouth coating, lingers on the palate which is very nice. Great beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 drowland (3570) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2010
The aroma is huge caramel, Belgian yeast, etc., but rather dark for a quad, which goes into the flavor. The carbonation is high and burning, too much considering the awesome Belgian versions out there.
