haukur (682), Reykjavik, Iceland May 2, 2008 I just love american belgians. They are so violent but yet delicate. Big yeasty aroma with just the right doze of hops. Very fruity, well masked and extremely drinkable. More please! BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 1, 2008 Dark fruit, prunes, dates, raisons. Balanced carbonation, but a bit syrupy. Brown amber, light head. Not what I expected, decent beer.. alcohol decently hidden. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 27, 2008 It has a reddish/amber/orange/brown color to it. A really nice head when its poured but goes away quickly. Has an ok off white, almost brown lacing. The smell is fruity, and has a hint of alcohol and is sweet. A very subtle alcohol taste considering its a 12 percent beer. Very smooth and amazing! Fruity/sweet and malt. Quiver (139), Augusta, Georgia, USA Apr 27, 2008 Great brew... poured at reddish caramel color. Had a higher level of carbonation than I would have expected from a strong belgian... and I typically do not like a lot of carbonation, but they pulled it off fairly well jcweaver (65), VA Beach, Virginia, USA Apr 23, 2008 Poured a hazy amber wth an off white head that dissapated and left no lacing. The smell has a hint of brown sugar, cloves and maybe molasses but the ethanol smell is overpowering to all other smells. The flavor is strongly alcohol-y and leaves a horrible after taste. We did not age this beer longer than 2 weeks though 5 years is recommended on the bottle. May have tocellar this one and try it again. sinkr (212), Lusby, Maryland, USA Apr 21, 2008 750->Trappist: Pours a large, off-white head on top of a murky, amber body.. Malt aroma is of molasses, hops of flowers, and perhaps some spruce with a light yeast/bacteria aroma. The body is medium, the texture is sticky and there is some carbo. in there. The flavor’s duration is short, being lightly sweet.
I would definitely consider this an indulgence beer, not only based on its body, but as well its alcohol content. Good creation by Victory, but not their best IMO. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Apr 16, 2008 Obviously my ultimate beer. heavily malty. Grain, toasted, nutty, caramel, mild coffee, wonderful flavor. heavily hoppy, perfumed, piney, resinous, grapefruit, lime signatures. doughy, spicy, yeast flavors. banana, apple, white wine, oak cask, allspice, alcohol, paper, and sulfur flavors throughout. Banana overall. Very carbonated. off white head with no longevity. clear yellow, amber, orange body. deep. lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter, and quite sour. salty, acetic aftertaste. medium to full body, dry, creamy, fizzy and lively carbona, with astingent, alcoholic finish.
An absolutely fantastic amazing creation. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Apr 16, 2008 Pours a clear dark copper body with a minimal white head. Aroma is sweet bubblegum, orange, caramel and some dough. Flavor is orange, bubblegum sweet, caramel, dough and fruity. Finishes very citric and long with a slight alcohol burn. Really the only time the alcohol is apparent. Full body, sticky texture. I could drink this one all the time.
