3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DandyWolfFloyd (378) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2010
The aroma is full of sugary malts, dark fruits a little alcohol, and really minor hop notes. The beer is a hazy deep rusty amber with almost no head, that fades to a thin slice of wisp. The flavor is of crystal malts and sweet darkish fruit, notably dark raisins and alcohol. The finish is sweet, with a little alcohol buzz. The body is medium, the texture slick, an adequately average carbonation, and a long sweet finish.

2009 Bottle. Aroma of hops, yeast and sweet malts. Body is light amber and golden with a tall fluffy head. Flavor is heavy, with sweet floral & malts... bitter aftertaste with an overall warming power... Great, lasting carbonation
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Pastor (700) - Maine, USA - JAN 30, 2010
2007 bottle poured into a DFH snifter it produced half of a finger worth of a tan head that disappeared to almost nothing. The body of the brew was a hazy brownish red in color.
I got wonderful aromas of Belgian spices and yeast with tons of dark fruits thrown in for good luck. The flavor was a mimic of the nose but with a nice amount of sweetness from the malts balanced out with the Belgian spices. The mouthfeel was what I expected in a Quad medium to full with light carbonation.
I finished the bottle myself and left the sediment in the bottle. This was a good brew and a interesting take on a Belgian staple. I would buy it again if I find an older bottle. Thanks again Dan

Cloudy, golden amber. Good aroma of floral hops, some maltiness. Great mouthfeel, flavors were excellent. Slightly spicy, nice hops, even a little bit of a pleasant sour bite. Dry finish. I like it.

Aroma- fruity and phenolic, sweet malty notes
Appearance- golden, amber hues
Taste- phenolic up front, fruity notes as well. very boozy and warming, makes sense at 12% abv. malt sweetness comes through when it warms up.
Palate- medium/full. quite viscous.
Overall- lots going on, but very cool. not too many belgian quads out there.

pours cloudy orange, off-white head.
aroma, candi sugar, dark fruits, Belgian yeast nose, malty, definitely has a nice alcohol aroma.
flavor, dark candi sugar, caramel malts, dark fruits; fig, prune, like fruit tartness with yeasty finish. Medium carbonation with grainy mouthfeel. Finish is wonderful, perfect mix of the yeast and malt coupled with the fruit. Tasty.
