docsteigs (139), USA Apr 12, 2008 Pours cloudy but translucent red-orange-brown with swirly head. Smells of yeast, bread, sweet; tastes pleasant, slightly spicy with a cotton candy finish; malts well balanced and pleasant. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 10, 2008 Draught: Sweet aroma. Smells of yeast, bubblegum, and malts. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Lightly sparkling. Clear. No lacing. Medium sweet flavor. Tastes of alcohol, spices, malts, yeast, and pepper. Medium body. Smooth texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet finish. Very drinkable for 12%ABV, with only a bit of alcohol warming to it. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 5, 2008 Have you ever read comments and wondered if you’ve just had the same beer??? That is undoubtedly the case here. Read the label twice just to be sure!!! Burnt nectarine with incredible carbonation and a head that begins big but settles to a stubborn 1/4 inch. Lacing, no. A solid coat down the glass...ABSOLUTELY!!! Grape, citrus, and candy-sweetness on the nose. This tastes of dusted sugar orange wedge gummies. There is a slight hint of alcohol in the flavor but it is most noticeable in the belly. Warming, heavy...good!!! Wish this was available in AZ!!! jrmac (210), USA Apr 4, 2008 Beer poured with a reddish brown body, and an almost excessive head. Aromas of malt, hops, and citrus. Interesting palate of fruit, berries, hops, and alcohol. Hard to guess 12% ABV, but you can taste it a bit. Overall a good beer. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2008 Courtesy of Fishinget. Pours copper-ish with a hint of haze and off white head. Nice perfumy aroma with flowers up to and orange juice and apricot underneath. The taste is rich and thick with sweet malts, sweet sugar, mild beats, coriander and some follow up alcohol heat. Lots of flavor that could use more age. But very tasty now. IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA Apr 2, 2008 Extremely drinkable for 12%. Flavor is excellent with fruits, sugars, and spices blending perfectly. Finish lasts a long time. Victory never seems to dissapoint Tdevil (13), Feetood, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 31, 2008 Updated: Aug 15, 2009Easily the best of the Victory series. Being desperate to try this one, it griped me a bit to spend $95 for a 12-pack of this, but I had no idea of the treat I was about to be in for. The cork was very difficult to remove, but once I got it out I immediatley smelled the yeast and mild spices. It poured very dark with a thick brownish head. Despite being an ale it was astonishingly easy to drink. It didn’t have the usual dryness of an ale, instead it had the smooth drinkability of a lager. Incredibly mild flavor with an immense alcoholic punch. I could not finish the bottle for it had such an immense alcohol content. Will be sharing with someone next time I open a bottle. I certainly recommend this one for the experience and I hope I will be able to buy this again. Vas19 (292), Maryland, USA Mar 29, 2008 Pours amber with a big off-white head. Nose is yeast and spice. Has that classic belgian ale flavor with some raisin in there and a touch of alcohol. Easy drinker for 12%.
