COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

A very fine Belgian. Definitely one to get again. Had that great, banana aroma and burst of flavor, followed by other darker fruits and spice. Almost a butterscotch quality, but not too sweet, just right. The alcohol shows up slowly, and lingers, adding to the experience.

Cidery and somewhat cognac tastes. Malty. Good balance of hops and sweetness. Pours with a tan head with large bubbles. Fruity aroma of apples, dark fruits and apricots. Alcohol burn in the mouthfeel yet smooth. Good winter beer, sweet, smooth and enjoyable.

750ml bottle acquired in trade with the ever generous Acknud.Pours a deep copper hue with a marginal off white head. Aroma is yeast, spice and candied fruit. Full bodied mouthfeel without the heavy carbonation sometimes found in Belgians. Flavor was brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits with a yeasty, earthy background. 12% abv is well disquised, a little to well. Very good brew, really enjoyed it.

Sampled from bomber. Pours orange with a medium sized head. Aroma is heavy on yeast, soil, and caramel. Flavor has earthy tones, ripe fruit, caramel and heavy spicing – orange peel, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon. Back palate has some dry chocolate to boot. Finishes long with savory yeast/wheat flavors. Really nice.

bottle, copper colored pour with some foamed milk head around the edges, aroma has some malty sugars, clove or spices, some fruit also, flavors of cotton candy, peppery spice and plum pudding, good lingering finish, solid beer

Unfair rating warning.. 750ml 2002 vintage, bottled march 2003, opened 2009. What a waste. Cognac aroma devastates. An inkling of what once was. Remains light on the palate, but the tastes have turned quite unpleasantly sour and pungent. Gets better as it airs out and warms, creamier and milder. A great beer fresh, maybe not so great after 6 years.

amber pour... some head that disappears. fruity spicy smell, but not as strong as i expected (have been battling a cold). taste is the same, but bolder... fruity, spicy, raisin, and caramel, with a warming alcohol finish that lingers on the tongue. another good brew from one of my favorite overall breweries

Crushed with Jakebra. Lots of sweet, dark fruits in there. Incredibly full-bodied. Creamy. Some hop presence in the finish surprisingly. One excellent beer, but exhausting to drink.
