| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Bottle, shared. Pours a nice brownish-red color, quickly-dissipating white head. The aroma is malt with dark fruit and apricot notes thrown in. Taste is crystal malt with apricot, dark fruit, and bready characteristics as well. Alcohol dominates the aftertaste, but it thankfully doesn’t overwhelm the beer. Surprised this is called a Belgian Strong Ale here, I thought it was a Quad. Regardless of the style, it’s a very good beer. Svesse (2612), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, apricots and marzipan. Fruity, malty taste with notes of dried apricots, fruitcake and marzipan. Vinous with alcohol sweetness throwing a decent punch towrds the finish. Warming and nice. dmac (1442), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2007 750 ml bottle. Poured a murky amber/brown with a bubbly white head. Strong alcohol aroma coming through, think of beer schnapps, with a slight touch of caramel and some yeast. Spicy alcohol flavor with a slight touch of yeas hidden behind the alcohol. Did I mention the alcohol??? This was a let down. DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA
