Commercial Description:
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

Draft at Barcade. I only had a couple sips of this one, but it was sweet malt, fruit, and yeast. Good mouthfeel, and the alcohol was well hidden.

750ml - Brewed 08/27/04 - Indy tasting Sept 07 - Aroma is sweet malt, alcohol and yeast. OK, I admit that this is all I have written down. I have an 04 in the cellar and will do a proper rating later.

Bottle, shared. Pours a nice brownish-red color, quickly-dissipating white head. The aroma is malt with dark fruit and apricot notes thrown in. Taste is crystal malt with apricot, dark fruit, and bready characteristics as well. Alcohol dominates the aftertaste, but it thankfully doesn’t overwhelm the beer. Surprised this is called a Belgian Strong Ale here, I thought it was a Quad. Regardless of the style, it’s a very good beer.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2007) Reddish brown colour, hazy, with brief white head. Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, apricots and marzipan. Fruity, malty taste with notes of dried apricots, fruitcake and marzipan. Vinous with alcohol sweetness throwing a decent punch towrds the finish. Warming and nice.

750 ml bottle. Poured a murky amber/brown with a bubbly white head. Strong alcohol aroma coming through, think of beer schnapps, with a slight touch of caramel and some yeast. Spicy alcohol flavor with a slight touch of yeas hidden behind the alcohol. Did I mention the alcohol??? This was a let down.
