Commercial Description:
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

(Rating #1252)

Pours a cooper color with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast. Taste is spicy, fruity, malty and rich. Nice carbonation. This is a solid Belgum Ale!

Bottle. Aroma of bread, spice, caramel and a hint of sour yeast. Pours a murky brown/amber. Dry and spicy on the palate with some candied fruit and yeast. Rich and creamy finishing with a spicy kick.

Pours a beautiful murky brown color, with very small head. Big buttery, nutty, sweet malt, and biscuit. Big powerful sweet malt on the palate, with a good alcohol kick and nuttiness. Very nice and balanced, and with some time it will be even better.

I was very disappointed in this one. I love Belgians and Victory brews some wonderful beers, but this one just didn’t cut it for me. Perhaps the bottle was old. The aroma was quite weak, with only faint hints of bready notes and a too-moderate yeast nose. Nice amber color on pour with off-white head. This fell apart when I put it to my lips - it was too darn acidic, which assaulted my taste buds and left a lingering acidity on my palate after finishing the beer. Just very disappointing overall.

Atlanta, Ga. - Toco Giant Package Store - 750 ml corked bottle. Dark copper pour with a luxuriant soft, silky off-white head. Strong aroma - almost cognac-like, with sweet hints of chocolate and caramel. Flavor is as luxuriant as the aroma and the appearance with chocolate, raisins, baked brown bread, cherry juice....essentially all the good stuff you find in a well made ale such as this. More akin to a fine liqueur - and almost as strong. Velvety smooth creamy mouthfeel. Best I have had in a long time.
