25.4oz bottle into a Krombacher Pils glass. Pours a bronzed orange Amber with thick Amber highlights. Large white head when poured full throttle. Simmers to a thin layered head, loose lacing lingers. Aroma of boozy orange, gin, chamomile, grass, yeast, floral tones, more booze. Taste of tart ripe orange peel, booze, gin, nectar, bread, glazed rum nuggets, saison spices, more booze. A slow relaxing sipper on solo excursion four or five, liquid luxury indeed.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hmm, almost like a "plain" quad, whatever that is. Pours a very pretty hazy copper with nice white top. Head doesn’t retain like the typical quad though. Aromas are fairly simple - malt, yeast ester, a touch of saison. Flavors are similar with some of the alcohol coming through, very sweet in a malty-syrupy way mid sip, leaving a bit of a bite at the finish. Fairly clean despite the sweet and alcohol. Not bad, but I was pretty excited given the low price and high reviews.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark gold/ amber color with a thick head and lacing on glass. Aroma of dark fruit and maybe a little booziness. Taste in order, spice booze, dark fruit. Overall a high octane quad that’s ok but there is plenty better.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber with a medium off-white head that quickly settles. Aroma is caramel, honey, tropical fruit, figs, spices. Taste is caramel, honey, spices, tropical fruit, maple syrup. Some light carbonation and fizziness. Feels like a - very decent - mix between a belgian triple and an american barley wine. Quite good actuall

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pour dark gold with orange hue and moderate white head. Nose light dank, slightly soured malt, some honey sweet. Taste similar to nose, generic sweet malt, toffee, caramel, and hint of alcohol. Can drink it but just ok. Extra 10th for the alcohol content.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big bottle shared with blonderedhead. This one has been in my beerventory for quite some time which is probably contributing to the lack of head on my pour. Aroma has pronounced boozy elements with some good Belgian yeast too. Almost smells like rum or whiskey or scotch. Taste keeps the alcohol presence going Plenty of sugar. A little tropical fruit. Caramel and scotch...toffee elements. Rich, soft mouthfeel. Definitely a sipping beer...almost has that after dinner drink feeling.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle shared with Heather on 9/27. Pours a rusty amber color, medium off-white head. Nose is candy sugar, orange peel, dried fruit, toffee, booze. Mouth is medium bodied, lots of caramel, fruit, some Belgian yeasty spice, creamy. Finishes with a noticeable ABV warmth. My girl and a beer together. Not to steal from the Old Milwaukee commercial... but actually, it doesn’t get any better than this. 😊

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled a year ago. Lovely clear golden amber with an off white head that’s soon a coat (first glass) in a Westmalle chalice, but lasts OK in a La Chouffe tulip. Aroma of brioche dough, grapey booze, herbs, oranges. white pepper. Not that heavy for 12%. Low carbonation. Taste is less refined than the aroma, but similar: brioche dough, some dried fruit and citrus peel. Some bitterness and doesn’t turn towards dry as much as you’d expect, but then it’s not quite as sweet as expected either. Good.
