hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Apr 27, 2007 Bottle conditioned, corked and caged, and bottled oin Aug. 10 06. Large off-white fizzy head that mostly diminished, transparent, sparse amount of lacing, visible carbonation, and a reddish orange hue. Nose was alcohol, malty, caramel, light floral hops and yeasty. Flavor was malty, caramel, lightly hoppy, and vinuous. Mouthfeel was tingly. Medium-full body. Definitely a nice sipping brew. Would like to get another bottle of this one to age. This is my kind of beer! Delicious and worth a try IMO. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Apr 24, 2007 Bottle Light copper pour with decent head that starts as big bubbles then die down to microbubbles, great lacing. Very sweet aroma, fruits are big. Same with the flavor. Alcohol is very well hidden in the aroma and decent in the begining of the flavor. End of the flavor hits strong acohol and gives that warming feelilng. Very smooth, great brew. GriffinAvenue (395), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA Mar 30, 2007 1 pint 9.4 oz bottle. Caramel-copper in color from an easy pour. Bottle adds to the presentation effect. Limited, but icy head. Hoppy, yeasty, slightly sweet in aroma. Smooth, somewhat malty, high alcohol flavoring flows from tongue to the back of the throat and through the nostrils. I can feel the alcohol inling my skin. Very nice - my friend drinking a cognac opposite me right now is jealous.
Frauditor (148), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Mar 21, 2007 holy smokes, this stuff will put you on the floor if you’re not careful. high abv, malty, warmness, light head, wow. good date drink. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 14, 2007 750ml Bottle - pours a dark coppery clear with a compact persistent 1/4 foam, well carbonated. Aroma is sweet with beligan yeasty notes. Flavor when chilled is sweet raisins, malts and the belgian yeast flavors that get dominated by the alcohol present in the finish. The alcohol burn overwhelms the flavor as it warms. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Mar 11, 2007 Very good. Don’t drink too much of this one though. The alcohol is very well hidden until it warms up a bit then wow. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Mar 10, 2007 dense foamy short blanket of dense light tan head. body is orangey-amber, mostly clear. lots of fizz up the body. aroam is sweet malt, raisins in sherry, and a bit of tangerine zest. flavor is sweet & hot raisiny malt, with a little heat like brandy. seems like some hop bitterness is there but but obscured by the malty heat. dry heat aftertaste like mouthwash. bready malt. not as boozy as many BSAs though. thanks KHill! EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA Mar 10, 2007 Updated: Apr 14, 2007Complex, on the ester and yeast side of the street. A good beer to sip and think important thoughts over. Either that or enjoy the conversation of friends after a nice meal.
