LearninBeer (194), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Feb 23, 2007 The aroma is citrus - lemon, slight sweet yeast. The head is big and frothy at first, off white, mostly diminishing and good lacing. The body is hazy and an amber-orange. The initial flavor is a touch bitter, hits the middle of the tongue with a touch of sweet hitting the sides of the tongue. The body is light to medium, the texture is slight watery with a lively fizzy carbonation. The finish leaves the tongue dry in the middle from the carbonation with a slight astringent feel. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Feb 5, 2007 Nice, classic belgian character. Hint of caramel apple on the nose. Flavorful and fairly smooth. Good beer. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 3, 2007 750mL bottled on Aug10 06. Pours a clear orange with a one finger beige head. Aroma of dusty bananas, fruity yeast, pepper and spices, a bit of pear. Flavor is spicy up front followed by some tartness, but only for a moment when it turns dusty and earthy through to the dry finish. Before the finish it is quite sweet. Alcohol is still a bit too warm for now. Full bodied with moderate prickly carbonation. Not too bad. luiss (89), Elmsford, New York, USA Jan 31, 2007 Bottle with a cork that says 2002 and a date that says bottled 2003. Smell is already citrousy like pineapple with hints of honey dew, fresh honey, and lemon tarts. Some pepper, and flower smells to this brew that make it a complex beer! Pours out a cloudy amber orange/ruby red color with a thick white head that is dampy and long lasting. Def yeasty and the sediments float on and about. The taste starts off dry and sour but finishes with a taste similar to biscuits wtih a sweet/tarty jam. The smell is so grassy and tarty, in a good way. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 29, 2007 Pours a magnificent hazy candy-like orange/red with yeast floaters. Head is initially generous with a foamy, tan off-white, head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma is of sweat pineapple, peach, mango, candy sugar, and alcohol. Flavor is on the sweet side. Pineapple, mango, pine, are in the front of the taste followed by a dry alcohol warming. Palate is luxuriously velvety, almost syrupy, accompanied by a subtle but present tingly carbonation. Overall a big sweet alcoholic beer with interesting tropical notes and with every sip you feel a little more drunk. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 23, 2007 Updated: Nov 6, 2007Light amber color with a fluffy white head. Wheat, banana, clove aroma. Flavor is of malts cloves and banana with a sweet finish. BeerMedic (1), Limerick, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jan 16, 2007 raisin, alcohol, amber, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, medium body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish, gsmitty80 (626), Washington DC, USA Jan 12, 2007 Had a heavy night of drinking on a case of these (12) thanks to a generous Christmas present by one of my good friends.
