| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Hints of stone fruit - peach/apricot? Fades to pear? Fairly sweet, lightly spiced. Warmed some a bit in the microwave - finally got an apple aroma. The room temperature approach: it has brandy characteristics. Still think there’s a passing bit of apricot in there. The hops are fairly subdued by the malt and sugar. Every sip seems to change the impression. Bemusing. Bewitched, Bothered and BeMildred. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2006 A small off-white head briefly tops a deep amber body. Notes of pear brandy, hops, caramel, baked apples, and malt in the aroma. A bit watery and light bodied. The flavor was pleasant fruit and spice and sweet candy. Not a bad brew but not top-notch. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2006 750 ml corked/caged bottle, March 11 2003 bottling date, purchased sometime in 2004. Little pop, and a pour of hazy bright amber, with voluminous lasting head, leaving quite thick fine-patterned lace as it finally dies....sweet Belgian candy sugar, peach and baked apples, and moderate alcohol presence in an appealing nose....on the tongue, moderate to heavy sweetness, with a maple/honey character that’s very nice, plenty of alcohol but not oppressively boozy, light yeastiness, golden raisins and a touch of funkiness....light carbonation, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, a touch syrupy, smooth and quite easy to drink belying the strength....not quite fabulous perhaps but quite delicious and it feels like just the right age. walleye (878), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 15, 2006 Bottled 1/9/06. Cloudy reddish brown body with a huge white head. Aroma was relatively mild, with notes of caramel, yeast, and what I thought might be pine. Flavor was more pronounced. Caramel takes a strong lead, but is backed up by a spicyness and a strong alcohol presence. Palate is thick to the point of syrupy, but also quite carbonated, and interesting combination. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Rather disappointing IMO. The first whiff I noted an obvious green apple aroma and a caramel-like sweetness. An orangish body with an off-white head. It was rather hot on the tounge and somewhat harsh. Flavor was very average with notes of sugar sweetness that made it feel thick. Hoppy and some maltyness made this one drinkable, but it was too harsh for me liking. Too many other good beers.
