I love the fresh, bright flavors...sweet, yeasty, fruity, spicy. Nice spritzy mouthfeel. Pairs well with food, yet refreshing on its own. Decent hop bite in the finish as well. Very enjoyable. Translucent deep orange color with a quickly dissipating ecru head. Looks beautiful. High amount of alcohol esthers with sweet floral hops and slight banana. Not overwhelming belgian yeast on the nose. Very warming with the high alcohol. Rich malt flavors with light hoppiness. Alcohol is definitely noticed. May mask a little flavor. Finish is smooth and lingering. Very nice brew. Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA

This example poured gorgeously into a orange richness that tops itself off with a thick white head. Spices, baking, and cedar wrap themselves around an apple, pear fruitiness and balance off with estery belgian yeast breadiness. I wouldn’t treat this beer as a traditional saison, in the refreshing food friendly style. This is what I like at the end of the day, but be advised, 12% is very well disguised CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

The aroma is thick...spice, yeast, apple, and malt. The flavor is exactly the same (lots of yeast, spice, malt , and apple/fruit sweetness) ...the amount of alcohol is perfect. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and fairly carbonated... the finish was fairly dry. Metalhead (570), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA

Poured a deep yellow/copper. Small bubbly fast dissipating white head. Aroma sweet, hints of spice, fruit, and alcohol. Flavor mildly sweet, vanilla, banana, and bready notes. I picked up a light alcohol taste all through my glass. Aftertaste is dry. Medium mouthfeel, Carbonation is good and a quick swirl of the glass releases more head and aroma. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2006 Sweet, yeasty and peppery spice in the nose with a hint of orange peel; light carbonation and little head; one dimensional sweetness with a viscous body; maybe a little oaky vinousness; no detectable hops or balancing bitterness; well hidden alcohol. This needs a little more complexity and definitely more bitterness to provide some interest. Nice, sweet warmer, though.
