Commercial Description:
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

Fantastic offering from Victory, just make sure you have someone to share it with. Strong sweet flavors mask that 12% well, but they never become so overbearing as to be undrinkable. This one goes down alarmingly easy, so you have to watch out, because it could easily run away with you. If you can find it, don’t pass it up. I’ve had better Belgian Strongs, but not a whole lot.

Bottle. Golden/brown color with a large off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Complex sweet aroma. Medium to full body with fruit syrupy texture. Complex sweet flavor with a long finish with a small alcohol bite. Very good.

This beer is what Golden Monkey wishes that it could be. Spicy and nice and pungent in the aroma. A nice brown hue with plenty of carbonation. Sweet and nice and thick on the mouthfeel. Overall I really enjoyed this.

Gushing upon opening. Hazy orange colored. Very sweet nose with obvious caramel and candy notes, though presented in a not unpleasant toasted biscuits frame. Herbal, earthy and remarkably woody undertones hide behind the peppery and estery (apricot, pear, mango) notes. A dryish astringency seems to develop more and more sips after sips, just like the soft tea-like tannins. Medium to full bodied, slick and thick texture, small bubbled carbonation, obvious alcohol. This is 2.5 yr old (march 2003 bottling) and could certainly use another couple of years. Unintegrated booziness, kinda harsh with unpolished yeastiness. A bit too American ultimately if I may say so.

[bottle - corked and caged 750 ml] Clear copper pour with a large and fizzy tan head. Very intense and fruity aroma. Lots of dark fruit notes and hints of cherry, figs, caramel, alcohol and spices. The taste is full of different flavors. Spice, cherries, caramel, yeast, alcohol and a slight bitter hop taste at the end. Very warming and very good.

Huge aroma of figs, spice, alcohol. Overripe fruit coming on strong in the flavor. ABV was surprisingly not detected, except the warmth going down!. For 12%, this was really smooth and good.
