Commercial Description:
So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature's most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you. Cheers!

Pours brown-amber with a decent beige head, intricate aroma of candied fruit, spice, hops, yeast and alchohol. Flavor follows nose, with light fruit as well, good hops balance and very warming finish. An excellent, complex belgian style brew, definitely would have again.

Bottled 3/29/05 - Sparkling clear light amber and copper, thick off white head. An elaborate nose of golden raisins, cotton candy, apple, and plum, with softer tones of caramel and pear. Rich dark candied fruit flavors (plum, raisin, cherry) and light booze dominate up front, but a decent spicy hop bitterness keeps the copious amount of sweet malt well in check. Medium bodied, moderate fizzy carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. An intense and complex brew that’s perfect to share on a cold winter night...

Thanks IMTHEOPTIMATOR for this one! Opaque brown, cloudy body. Large beige head that lasts. Lots of spicy and yeast aromas here. Old cherries and port. Wood and grapes. Good. Flavours dominated by alcohol, and consist of burnt caramel, sweet malt, and an almost smokey-esque port. Alcohol lingering aftertaste. Good example of the style, but I like my stong belgians with the alcohol covered up more. Thanks andrew!

Woody, vinous, tart, alcoholic, aroma is fruity, yeasty and appealing. Opaque orange-brown body is topped by a generous off white head that recedes to cover. Earthy, corky, woody, vinous, boozy and leafy flavours all meld together well with plenty of residual sweetness and strong yeastiness. Medium body with moderate, soft bubbled carbonation and mild alcohol warming. Bottle sampled with GonZoBeeR, MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.

A wonderful example of an American made Belgain Strong Ale. The sweetness is not to stong and complexities hide the alcohol well. A must try for drinkers of Belgian Strong Ales.

Fantastic offering from Victory, just make sure you have someone to share it with. Strong sweet flavors mask that 12% well, but they never become so overbearing as to be undrinkable. This one goes down alarmingly easy, so you have to watch out, because it could easily run away with you. If you can find it, don’t pass it up. I’ve had better Belgian Strongs, but not a whole lot.

Bottle. Golden/brown color with a large off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Complex sweet aroma. Medium to full body with fruit syrupy texture. Complex sweet flavor with a long finish with a small alcohol bite. Very good.
