3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 scottw86 (835) - Maryland, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Poured a clear amber color with a small white head. A fair amount of sediment floating around. Aroma is slightly tart with lots of light fruity notes. Some veggie flavors are noticeable with some yeast. Taste is smooth and fruity. Grapes, and plums at first with some brown sugar. Transitions into a slightly alcoholic and bitter finish with some veggies. The alcohol is noticeable, but it just gives a warming flavor.

Tap. Really dark cola brown with a light tan head. Plums, toffee and a light roast are really nice in the aroma, and come off quite dry and slighty bitter. Not really that sweet, which is nice and lets the dark fruit, plum, and grapes and slight candied nature to come through in the flavor. Rich and tasty. Thinner to medium body, with bubbly carbonation.

Pear and tomato nose. Clear copper, medium yellow head. Pear and rosehip flavor with accents of fresh red tomatoes. Finishes with clover. More vegetal than expected (yeah, I know tomatoes are fruits) but in a delightfully good way. Alcohol is well concealed, which makes this a true ass kicker. Enjoyable and very unique.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 alesandangling (32) - Pueblo, Colorado, USA - MAR 6, 2011
The aroma is bright with citrus and sweet fruit. It is a deep golden orange color and matches the style. It has a more mild sweetness than some other Belgian beers and had a pleasant flavor. Though this style of beer is not one of my favorites, this beer is really enjoyable.

Half way down the bottle solo... my left eye has been twitching for half an hour. This beast poured out a hazy orange brew with fine silt like sediment passengers and half a glass of light tan stuff that appears to be small bubbles gathering for some reason of evil. Thick and oozy looking, a coating has been left on my glass with slow moving legs creeping back into the cauldron of liquor. Wonderful aromas here... aromas that let me know that my vision will not be what it was an hour ago. Candy, raisins, tons of untoasted bread on the whiter side.... nope - more doughy than anything, oranges and peaches, sort of mintish or something like that, plum, lots of yeast that is not that spicy and bananas and then there’s all this gas from that garlic based stir fry I gorged myself on. Smooth flavours with nothing shocking or out of place or massive. The yeast is here but it’s blended in so well that, well, ack - I have no idea what I’m trying to say. Sweetness and tasty lightly peppery spice that lingers long in a mild state, shit this is so damn good. mild hops here and there with good citrus and light pine - it’s the spice (which is quiet for 12%) that hold the harshness card. Plumish, the hops are very mild here. Very well balanced. I dig this a lot. Nobody but me is listening to Go’N Breakdown by Suicidal Tendencies right now. Perfect feel, excellent carbonation, citrus pops in on every sip then fades quickly. Very tasty beer that delivers on every single sip without hesitation.

The pour is semi-translucent red/brown with a normal sized bubbly white head. Aroma is pretty complex with notes of plums, bananas, caramel, brown sugar. Flavor is a tad boozy at first but ends with a sweet fruit finish. Some spiciness as well.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bricks (297) - Delaware, USA - FEB 27, 2011
Thought it was overly sweet and somewhat boozy -- to be expected for a 12%, but not one I’d go out of my way for.
