Nose of candy sugar and Belgian yeast. Apply and bitter sweet. Some bubblegum hints in there, too. Strong burst of alcohol in finish as beer warmed up. Very nicely constructed brew. Head was like a traditional Belgian, big and rocky, then dissipates to almost nothing. In the nose I found an abundance of sweet fruits, yeast and alcohol. On the pallet, your lips almost sting from the alcohol, in a good way. A big strong finish from this beer. DaSilky1 (2033), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Nice red-tinted golden color with frothy and lacey head. Aroma was quite creamy with hints of fruit, canoli cheese, and that usual sweet malty barley-wine thang. Prickly carbination. Creamy fruit flavors and kind of sugary though still somewhat dry if that makes sense. Maybe the combo of hops and alchohol. I don’t see the belgian influence here..but then again, maybe it’s just styled wrong on ratebeer. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma citrus, yeast, caramel. Flavor, yeasty, sweet, some caramel, a good bit of bitterness to it. Solid brew. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2006 A light hazed amber pour with a sweet aroma of malt and alcohol. A sweet malty flavor that completely coats your mouth with a sweet film that the 12% can’t cut out. AmEricanbrew (2006), Almost, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2008 13 months in the bottle. Clear copper color with a fleeting head. Nice cotton candy sweet, mildly boozy smell. Med. bodied with a prickly mouthfeel. A tangy, citrusy fruit taste stays tart to the end. Finishes as a boozy gut warmer.
As the brew warms the flavor turns syrupy sweet. Belgians are still masters of the Quads. 92205(82704 bot) mjg74 (2001), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2006 750ml Bottled 3/29/05. Pours a hazy reddish/orange color. Strong aroma of apple juice and yeast. Somewhat sweet and maybe a little grain. Flavor right up front is of dark fruits and roasted malt. A little chocolate as well. Yeast flavor is only moderate. Alcohol is very well hidden. You can feel the alcohol more than taste it. travita (1970), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Muddy amber in color and a decent beige colored head. The smell is fruits, alcohol, candi sugar, toffee, raisans, and malts. The taste is toffee, raisans, alcohol, all sorts of sugar, fruits, and yeast. Felt like a decent homebrew.
