[thank you, SecretSanta!]
Pours light hazy coppery-orange with a light frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and lots of raisins. Well vinious. Pleasant high carbonation and fine mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely sweet, yeast, caramel, raisins and plums. But there is just too much alcohol in here. bu11zeye (5715), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Gushing upon opening. Hazy orange colored. Very sweet nose with obvious caramel and candy notes, though presented in a not unpleasant toasted biscuits frame. Herbal, earthy and remarkably woody undertones hide behind the peppery and estery (apricot, pear, mango) notes. A dryish astringency seems to develop more and more sips after sips, just like the soft tea-like tannins. Medium to full bodied, slick and thick texture, small bubbled carbonation, obvious alcohol. This is 2.5 yr old (march 2003 bottling) and could certainly use another couple of years. Unintegrated booziness, kinda harsh with unpolished yeastiness. A bit too American ultimately if I may say so. hopscotch (5555), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

It pours crystal clear with a unique coppery golden hue. Small, khaki-colored fizzy head. Quickly and entirely diminishing with no lacing.
One's nose is instantly surrounded by tons of fresh and overripe fruit; a cross between peach, apricot, Granny Smith apples, pear and even pineapple. Vineous with notes of chardonnay. Also present are slightly malty characteristics like English toffee and caramel, although these are definitely underlying.
The flavor is very malty and moderately sweet up front with bursts of plump, dark raisins, buttermilk and even grapefruit. Also, lots of warm alcohol on the back of the tongue. Although the alcohol makes its presence known, the 12% ABV is not IN YOUR FACE prevelant. Decently balanced with a moderately bitter and slightly acrid hop addition on the backside.
Very nice beer! World Class!
Full-bodied with a very oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Very pleasant, lightly bitter, moderately alcoholic and dry finish.
Kudos to the brewers at Victory for another job-well-done in the creation of this beer. Hopefully this one will hold up in the cellar better than the V10, although I doubt any of this beer will make it past my Belgian beer glass on its way to the cellar.
