Strong alcohol present, but it works well.
Wonderful after taste.
As the beer warms there is a lot of fruity sweet and sour apple taste.

One of my favorites that tastes kind of like this is Abbey Des Rocs Grand Cru. The Victory isn't quite as good, but is still excellent. I'm getting some of that orange, malty, caramel aroma that I like in the ADR. Not chocolately like the ADR though. If I remember the ADR correctly, the color of this is a little lighter. I'm really impressed by this. As my friend LT would say, "This is the real deal." Color is orange-amber-copper. A little white head is reatained, and there is a little bit of lace. Good stuff. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 20, 2004 Poured a dark amber with a thick foamy white head that didn't last. Aroma was mildly sweet with apples and bubble gum. Nice full mouthfeel. Apples, peaches, and brown sugar on the tongue, along with a decent hop character. This was a very enjoyable beer! haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland

Big yeasty aroma with just the right doze of hops. Very fruity, well masked and extremely drinkable. More please! valcanan (12), Apple Valley, California, USA

Very high on the alcohol taste but very welcomed flavors and buzz. A very good beer that should only do better with age. I cannot agree with the bottle instructions that state start cold and continue to sip as it warms. Start warm, don't waste this beer. You will miss too many flavors drinking cold. jimhilt (1696), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Pours a two finger cream head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving traces of lace. Nice clear amber color. Raisin/caramel/alcohol nose. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is sweet mix of raisin and alcohol with a bit of hop, finishes sweet, not cloying. Smooth and one to definitely savor with the very high ABV. $8.75 for a caged 750ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
