COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewmaster Bill and One Village Coffee Chief Roaster Woody DeCasere found themselves at Victory talking about their two favorite beverages. The result is this seductive brown ale built to exhibit the fruity notes of fair trade, organic Honduras Los Tuneles Microlot beans, carefully roasted and cold brewed at Victory to meld beautifully with our lush brown ale.

On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Amber brown pour, frothy and lively like RC cola. Soft notes of cocoa and coffee in the nose, which is otherwise sweetly malty. Feels a bit insubstantial for the style, lightly prickly. Mild leafy bitterness and nuts here and there, malts underneath consistently, and occasionally a reminder of the roasts. Seems like it’s uncertain of its personality.

Pint at Tylers Apex. Ok aroma, sweet. Coffee, little nutty. Small head faded quick, spotty lace. Sweet flavor. Light body, thin smooth mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Ok, kind of thin and weak. Just ok

TURDFERGUSON (4039) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 21, 2013
Tap at Tylers Durham. Pours medium brown with a small off white head. Nose shows cocoa, very nutty, medium to heavy roast, light herbal hops. Flavor is similar, lots of nuts, fairly roasty, but still a medium to light mouthfeel. Meh.

Light brown in the glass. Coffee aroma. On the palate it reminds me of eating chocolate covered espresso beans. A little thin on the finish. Interesting.

From the tap poured a brown color with a fair amount of head. Malty light hoppy flavor with a quick finish.

Draft. Light brown, clear, no head. Malt and coffee aroma, light body, moderate carbonation. Strong coffee taste but it works pretty well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at P house, pours a nice lighter brown, with small to medium head. Alright lacing, notes of nuts, coffee, and roasted malts. Hops are there in the flavor, nice beer from Victory.

From tap. Pours a bit lighter/clearer than I’d like a brown ale to be. Only the slightest malt/coffee aromas. Mouthfeel is terribly thin on the palate. Overall, not a good flavor. The brown ale and coffee flavors do not come together. I got a pint and ended up leaving a good bit of it to be poured down the drain.

This rating is for the 2012 version, which is more like a pale ale than a brown ale. Coffee in the aroma and flavor, but a golden/amber color and lighter mouthfeel. Really nice and not heavy as most coffee beers go.
