A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Bottle 355ml. Pours very slightly whitish blond with low white head. Aroma is of grain, wheat, citrus, coriander. Taste is of grain, wheat, sugar. Palate: Medium-high carbonation. Light-medium body. Overall: A tad bland adn too straight-forward. Appearance lacking.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with almost no white head. Plenty of carbonation though. Aroma of yeast and a touch of sourness along with some bready malt. Taste is almost the same without the sour notes. Fairly clean finish - some sweetness comes. Interesting.

Rated from notes taken on 2 Jul 2011 -- Tasted at a sampling. This, in my opinion, is exactly as a Belgian Wit should be. Classic example.

Bottle from the Victory summer box. Weakest of the lot IMO. Pours yellow-gold with some haze and very little carb. Aroma is Belgian yeast, wheat, coriander, a bit of malty sweetness. Taste is more of the same with cereal / grains. Drinks easy but a bit bland.

This is a pretty good take on style, I’d say. It is yellow and a bit hazy with a short lived head of fine bubbles. It’s nose is popcorn graininess, some pleasant floral notes and a pleasant bready yeast character. This is lightly sweet but dried out by creamy and vigorous carbonation and is medium bodied. That sweetness seems to punctuate the Cap’n Crunch cereal graininess in the nose which is something I have always liked but is not exactly traditional to the style here. It finishes w/ some lingering floral tones and a touch of citrus that brings to mind coriander. Definitely a tasty beer but probably I would call it a Belgian single or something rather than a witbier. It just doesn’t have the full yet light palate of a good wit or really the same flavor profile at all. That doesn’t make it a bad beer though.

12oz bottle from the summer mix 12. Pours a pee like golden, definitively unfiltered with small sediment floating around and plenty bubbles. Not looking overly carbonated though; also has a white head that fizzes away immediately. Smells heavily of spices, orange and coriander. Relatively light bodied and perfect carbonation for the style, just a little bite. Despite the strong smell of spices, orange and coriander, this is much lighter and not too flavorful. Relatively dry, easy drinking, light, session wit for sure.

Bottle (12). Enjoy by 09 may 2015. Courtesy of Minderbinder, thanks! Clear golden with a small disappearing white head and little lacing. Aroma is gentle with light spiciness (mostly coriander), hints of citrus, some belgiumness and cereals. Taste is mild with coriander, light citrus, hints of acitity and light breadied cereals. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Decent Witber. Mild and drinkable. Balance isn’t bad and spices aren’t overwhelming.

Aroma is spices, medium/strong orange peel and wheat. The flavor is spices, citrus, wheat, malts/grains and a mildly tart/sour finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours light golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy, white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of wheat malt, yeast, banana, citrus and spices. Body is medium and smooth. Wheat malt, spices, candy sugar, banana fill the mouth. Finish is medium, semi-dry. Taste more like Hefe than Wit.
