Commercial Description:
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Another one of those beers that I have no idea how I haven’t rated. Well, it’s an excuse to go pick some more up. This is a totally solid wheat that I enjoy pretty much anytime I drink it. Probably still take the Hoe over this if it wasn’t local (to my hometown) so I’ll call it a draw.

330 mL. Pours a hazy light yellow with a one-finger white head that settles down quickly to nothing. Aroma of yeast, coriander, orange peel, cloves, bananas. Mouthfeel is very light and watery but the body is full of yeast notes along with white pepper and citrus. Clean, peppery finish. Light and refreshing albeit a bit a too light.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a fast-dissipating head. Aroma of wheat, grain, and lemon chiffon cake. Lots of wheat and citrus on the palate, with lingering fruity (lemon, tart orange) sweetness. This brew is remarkably flavorful, and the citrusy-yet-spicy character almost makes up for Whirlwind’s sub-par mouthfeel and appearance.

Pours slightly hazy light gold with very little head. Citrusy aroma with hints of yeast. Very crisp and refreshing with citrus flavors coming to the forefront. The appearance is nothing impressive, but the taste was very good.

Very smooth and crisp with spicy pepper, lemon zest, citrus peel and banana flavor. Slight malt presence as well. Aftertaste is a bit metallic and soapy though.
