3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2007 Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a few floaties. Small white head. Tangy aroma of lemon and yeast, light spice. Nice. Taste is grainy and bitter, certainly not something your casual wheat beer drinker could handle. Contained citrus/fruitiness, leaves room for some solid bitterness and faint spice. Body is pretty light, probably ok for the style. Tasty, although somewhat mild compared to the more aggressive Belgian versions.

"pours a cloudy yellow. can’t see through it but i had to almost throw it in the glass to get any head, which quickly went away. looks flat in the glass. aroma of banana, clove and citrusy yeast and fruit. flavor a cross between a hefe (banana/clove) and a wit (orange peel...is there coriander in here?), and ends up being a little thin and confused as none of the aspects stand out. the feel saves it. tingles on the tongue and last well after your sip. a bit of a letdown from a great brewery. wits have to be standouts to impress me. this one is not, but it ain’t bad either. right on the line

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with almost no white head. Plenty of carbonation though. Aroma of yeast and a touch of sourness along with some bready malt. Taste is almost the same without the sour notes. Fairly clean finish - some sweetness comes. Interesting.

Rated from notes taken on 2 Jul 2011 -- Tasted at a sampling. This, in my opinion, is exactly as a Belgian Wit should be. Classic example.
