COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2007 Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a few floaties. Small white head. Tangy aroma of lemon and yeast, light spice. Nice. Taste is grainy and bitter, certainly not something your casual wheat beer drinker could handle. Contained citrus/fruitiness, leaves room for some solid bitterness and faint spice. Body is pretty light, probably ok for the style. Tasty, although somewhat mild compared to the more aggressive Belgian versions.

(Rating #4448)

Clear gold, lots of carbonation and considerable particles that get pushed around by the bubbles. Sticky feel. Quite out of season but still spicy and refreshing.

Backlog...late 2011/early 2012...probably 2012 as this is a spring offering. Pours a hazy pale yellow...like lemonade...with a medium white head. Aroma is fairly spicy...coriander, clove...with mild citrus. Flavor follows suit...wheaty/yeasty/bready...good spice and citrus mix...refreshing. mouthfeel is lighter and fairly lively with a spicy/citrus finish.

Aroma of spices, biscuit, and meaty oranges. Hazy yellow with some suspension. Tart flavor - some sweet spices and bitter citrus components. On the other hand, it’s fairly mellow, without the expected bite. Good beer for August, says best by 2/13.

Bottle. Lemon, wheat malt, and clove aroma. Cloudy yellow with a small white head, chunky suspended sediment. Strong clove, lemon, and wheat flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. A little heavy on the spice flavor, which contributed a slightly bitter finish, but still a nice summer beer.
