COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

pours a cloudy sunshine yellow, with lots of carbonation, and a small white head. smell is of wheat, citrus, and a little banana. taste is a bit tangy, wheat, nice citrus, and a touch of spice. ends refreshing.

Rated on 6-21-2009 (Bottle) This beer forms a small very fizzy white head that mostly diminished, cloudy pale yellow body, floaties, spotty amounts of lacing, fizzy, and fast rising carbonation. The Aroma is yeasty, citrus hops, sweet, fruity, and spicy. The Taste is sweet, spicy, fruity, and lightly yeasty. The Palate is tingly and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink and a beer I consider to be a session beer. It is refreshing on a hot Indiana summer day and is worth trying.

Old rate. Standardas it gets super light and airy, some weird maltiness. IIWI.

Date tasted: July 5, 2013... Glassware: Rare Vos shaker... Occasion: camp week #1 in the books, and reviewing an old friend....Appearance: pale straw haze; thin off-white head that stills quickly; appears easy-drinking but not overly attractive ... Aroma: tart citric bouquet, with orange and lemon scents softly against some pepper--more intriguing combination than the average summer wit... Palate: a soft yet firm mouthfeel, smooth at the teeth and lacking all (any?) presence at the throat--mega-refreshing, as recalled... Taste: a bit of pepper sneaks in, but far and away a doughy, orange twist that easily sifts down the throat; not complex, but enough profile to compel... Overall: An old friend indeed--this was the first beer I found that fit the easy-drinking summer plan once out of college; surprised I had not reviewed it yet, I had to go back to it; for better (or worse), a case of this could vanish in a mere day or two; better than the sum of its parts....

Kroger mixed pack bottle. Very nice, mellow and refreshing witbier. definitely something for a hot afternoon. Lighter on the spice which I like. The yeast seems spot on too. Very nice.

Pours a cloudy hazy golden rusty orange. Nose is yeasty and spicy and a bit grainy. Taste is typically Belgian, strong up front yeast with coriander spices. Finish is spicy with a lingering yeasty taste. Just another uninteresting ’ plain vanilla ’ Belgian wit. Quaff Score 6 / 10

Pours golden yellow with a white head and aroma of wheat and spices. Taste is light, of wheat, light spice-coriander, and banana with a dry, wheaty finish. A bit boring

(Rating #4448)

Clear gold, lots of carbonation and considerable particles that get pushed around by the bubbles. Sticky feel. Quite out of season but still spicy and refreshing.
