COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden Monkey aged in Chardonnay barrels. Our Golden Monkey is beloved by many, so we anticipate some heartfelt responses to our intriguing transformation of this beer, expressed Victory brewmaster Bill Covaleski. The wine barrel aging has had a substantial and delicious impact on the Golden Monkey. Approximately 100 oak barrels that once held chardonnay varietal white wine from Wente Vineyards of Livermore, CA were filled with Golden Monkey and aged at ambient temperatures in the Downingtown brewery for 3 months. This process is an extension of an experiment dating back 6 years prior, when a single oak barrel once holding white wine from local vintner, Chaddsford Winery, was used in a similar manner to produce a test batch which never left the brewery. Deemed delicious by Victory brewmasters and brewing staff, the White Monkey project was made possible through a collaborative partnership with Wente Vineyards.

Wine front and forward, then the triple shines through though not as wallpaper paste tasting as alone. I do enjoy the golden monkey and consider myself elite when drinking this. However, the aging in the wine barrels tones down the triple but in a good way, I would buy this again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep clear amber into a tulip. White conglomerate head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to mottle surface. Grape and oak aromas. Soft with sweet wine and caramel flavors upfront turning to oak and marshmallow before the lasting hot, sour fruit finish.

Pours translucent golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of banana, clove, white wine, oak and vanilla. Alcohol burn of a fresh golden monkey has gone away. Flavor of banana, clove, peppery notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Very oaky/white wine. Well done.

Bottle from Proof. Clear golden pour with a small frothy white head. Sweet Belgian yeasts, bubblegum, pale grains, butter, light spice, white wine, oak barrel with touches of vanilla. Sweet bubblegum, butter cream, vanilla, sweet oak, white wine and subtle spices. Low carbonation and slightly oily body. Not bad.

Amazing golden pour with a fat dissipating head. Aromas of the wine barrel are present on the nose with butter cream Cookies. Tast is definitely a bready golden but the finish is white wine pepper and charred oak. Good one worth trying.

Tallahassee, Fl, Market Square Liquors - 750 ml cage corked bottle. Pours a sparkling light amber with a thin but persistent cloud of a had that leaves this trails of lacing. Very potent aroma with some definite wine characteristics, some white grapes, a hint of yeast. Flavor is full bodied and unique with a sharp wine accent with some definite oak accents. Some tangy dates and nuts make their way into the back end. Wine presence is very profound - not quite cloying, but could be a detractor for those who are not huge wine fans. Some maple syrup notes finish it out. Nice sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid but Im not a huge barrel age fan.

Extremely disappointed in this beer. We had this at our regular beer gathering, and everyone ended up pouring it down the drain. The taste was awful, like drinking perfume or chemicals

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 Very nice tripel. Floral on the nose, malty taste. Mild hop. Poured from bomber bottle. Would have again.
