COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden Monkey aged in Chardonnay barrels. “Our Golden Monkey is beloved by many, so we anticipate some heartfelt responses to our intriguing transformation of this beer,” expressed Victory brewmaster Bill Covaleski. “The wine barrel aging has had a substantial and delicious impact on the Golden Monkey.” Approximately 100 oak barrels that once held chardonnay varietal white wine from Wente Vineyards of Livermore, CA were filled with Golden Monkey and aged at ambient temperatures in the Downingtown brewery for 3 months. This process is an extension of an experiment dating back 6 years prior, when a single oak barrel once holding white wine from local vintner, Chaddsford Winery, was used in a similar manner to produce a test batch which never left the brewery. Deemed delicious by Victory brewmasters and brewing staff, the White Monkey project was made possible through a collaborative partnership with Wente Vineyards.

Bottle. Moderate straw for the malt, perfume and orange for the hops, light soap and a hint of dough for the yeast, with hints of white wine, cask wood, solvent and light dried fruits. Head is small, frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy, medium amber with a small amount of medium sized particles. Flavor starts moderately sweet and finishes lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic. There is a really nice, unique flavor to this Abbey Tripel.

Pours a golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of white wine, oak and banana esters. Taste follows, lots of white wine, for some reason the barrel aging makes this more drinkable. There is a lot of wine but it seems to work with this beer. Solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Saturday beer and a beer like that I can say about this. Much cred to the owner at the beer Authority of New York for this beer. There’ll soon be a trip tebax to the U.S.. Anyway so this beer a remarkable aroma. The taste is a little better and tastier. Weak with aftertaste. But can not tell if this beer unfortunately.

750mL bottle from ABC in Wesley Chapel. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is some apple, some yeast, big oaky chardonnay, and a hint of pepper. Flavor is similar with big chardonnay up front, some yeast and pepper in the mid along with some dry apple and grape then pepper, yeast, and chardonnay in the finish. Interesting twist on Golden Monkey, but VERY chardonnay-forward.

(750ML bottle) clear gold, effervescent lingering head that eventually dissipated rather quickly. Nose of peach, belgian spicy yeast, bit of alcohol, apricot and other stone fruits, white wine and oak; a good tripel. Taste is light oak, Belgian yeast, a bit spicy reminiscent of a true Belgian tripel, apricot, heavy on the chardonnay, peach. Effervescent finish that is a little sweet, spicy and fairly drinkable given the ABV.
