4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
As if the Monkey weren't awesome enough, they come out with this! What a wonderful beer. All the complex spice flavors of Golden Monkey already make it extra-dimensional. The addition of oak and Chardonnay overtones make White Monkey shift you into a universe only comprehended by string theory physicists.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aromas of flora, crab apple, golden raisins, yeast, golden earth, and a mild nuttiness. Clear golden-orange with a lasting, white head. Dry, very fruity, with flavors of peach, banana, and coconut. Light-medium body, spicy, and finishes with lingering fruit and floral notes.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours translucent golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of banana, clove, white wine, oak and vanilla. Alcohol burn of a fresh golden monkey has gone away. Flavor of banana, clove, peppery notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Very oaky/white wine. Well done.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a slightly hazed pale golden color with a soft, subtle white sudsy head. Aroma is fantastically complex, combining white wine and Belgian yeast; sweet grape-fruity wine character, honey and spice with a touch of alcohol. Taste is soft and sweet; starts with a fruity chardonnay character and a malty undertone, sweet and spiced throughout with some woody and alcohol notes in the finish. A great take on the Monkey!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Victory never disappoints and this is no exception to that rule. It’s in a bomber. It has a malty smell. It is real crisp and clear. The taste, well you either get it or you don’t. And I get it. It has a barley wine taste, but washes down like a sour. I enjoyed it the more I thought about. I like what they were reaching for. Try it to try it. Definitely not for everyone.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Look: cloudy shade of gold, 1 finger white head. Smell: Fruity Belgian yeast notes, deep grape musk, honey, some oak is detectable. Taste: Nice blend between oak and fruity yeast. mild floral, vanilla, faint coconut, honey, hint of banana, alcohol is well covered, nice dry bittersweet finish. Feel: Medium-light body, par carbonation. Overall: I’m sorry to see this Monkey leave. The flavor profile is strong but the mouth feel makes it easy to savor. Victory is great at making quality brews, and this one should be added to their portfolio. Recommended.

Wine front and forward, then the triple shines through though not as wallpaper paste tasting as alone. I do enjoy the golden monkey and consider myself elite when drinking this. However, the aging in the wine barrels tones down the triple but in a good way, I would buy this again!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled February 14, 2013.
Appearance: The body is perfectly clear with an amber hue. The head is near white with a good size and decent retention. The head settles somewhat quickly into a messy coating.
Aroma: On the pour the nose was primarily a dry oak and chardonnay aroma, prominent but weak. Swirling it in the glass adds banana and cloves to the aroma in equal strength to the barrel notes with a light honey sweetness.
Taste: This drinks much better than the nose indicates. Sweet honey underlies a peppery, oaky, and dry, yet fruity, blend. This has good complexity, it has sweet wine like characteristics of a moscato with the honey underlying, the spiciness of a triple, and the dry and oaked characteristics of a chardonnay. Well done.
Palate: Medium bodied, a bit syrupy, with light carbonation.
Overall: This is my favorite barrel aged Victory beer yet. I love the complexity and the play of the sweet and dry characteristics. I’m going to try to find another bottle.
