COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold, spicy, menacingly delicious HopDevil takes on an entirely new dimension when subjected to a wild yeast fermentation. A sharp, sourish edge has been added by this fermentations that plays into the caramel sweet malt deliciously and creates complex interplay with citrus accented hops.

The essence of the IPA is still there, but really dried out by the Brett. Not too much funk, more along the lines of a Belgian feel.

Bottle. Pours golden orange off white head. Nose and taste of sour funk, lemon, grapefruit and wild yeast. Light bandaid. Medium body.

It’s a bit floral. Better than regular HopDevil, this beer is a solid ale with a touch of wildflowers and a smidge of funk. Slight citrus nose. Has a touch of sweetness. The more I drink this one, the more I like it.

Is this a wild ale? I suppose. Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear amber with a medium sized off white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma picks up a lemon tartness and has plenty of pine and citrus. You definitely smell the hop devil. The taste has a tart lemon and a slight bitterness. The lemon notes hang longer than the bitterness. Hop devil really tamed but this is a fun spin on it.

From bomber. Pours a clear reddish-amber with slightly off-white head. Mild hoppy aroma. Taste is not mild (not a bad thing). Slight bitterness riding on top of the hops. Not a bad summer beer, with that touch of bitterness complementing the summer IPA thing.

On tap at brewpub. Dark copper pour with white head. Nice lacing. Citrus, pine, caramel, funk, biscuit. Moderately bitter and sweet. Medium, smooth body with some light trailing carbonation.

Bottle 09, with Zach, pours a burnt orange color with a nice head. Nose is tart with mild Brett. Taste is sour, with moderate tartness. Finish is dry and moderately long. Have had much better sours. quaff score 7 /. 10

2009 bottle. Pours a dark burnt orange with a beige head and tart, fruity aroma. Taste is sour and tart, with fruity, funky yeasty notes along with hoppy, caramel flavors leading to a dry, tart, slight bitter finish.

750ml bottle, shared by somebody after Jackie-O’s 8th Anniversary. Hazy orange-red color. Pours with a big, soft airy head. Couple dots of lace. Smooth, soft lighter carbonation. Nice dry finish. Moderate sweet taste. Light alcohol dryness. Dark fruit, raisin, chocolate, some fudge. Solid, big, rich lightly tart wild ale.

2009 vintage. Not good. Something has went seriously wrong here. No sourness at all. Wet cardboard, dirty hay, barnyard grossness. The only real flavors i get is old earthy hops and dirty wheat. Meh.
