jehoey (734), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 23, 2008 poured off the tap an amber coppish color with a good head that dissipated rather quickly. Aroma was akin to Orval nice brett thing going on, fruity, definitely some tropical fruit, and the american hops comming through. flavor was incredible and very complex. started full with malts, balancing nicely the flavor of the hops and brett, citrussy, but with a bretty edge. as the beer got to the finish the brett really turned into that nice horseblanket aroms and dryed out a bit. nice medium bodied mouthfeel. my new favorite victory brew. egajdzis (3138), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 Poured a hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, citrus fruits, caramel malts, and a farmy horseblanket over top. Taste was quite bitter, with some pine, citrus fruits, light caramel, and brett brux. Was just very faintly tart, but more of a bretty yeastiness throughout. The funk really came out at room temperature. TomDecapolis (2619), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2008 On tap at Victory. Pours a mostly translucent amber with a bunch of golden notes and a medium creamy off white head that left lacing on the glass. Aroma of spicy hop notes, floral, citrus, some banana, brett and as it warmed a touch of barnyard. Flavor some the same spicy hop notes that in HopDevil, citrus, caramel, banana, horse blanket and caramel. This was quite interesting. I hope they decide to keep this one on as a regular and even bottle it. Will be interesting to see how some age benefits this beer. WISEGUY572 (1160), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2008 Nose of caramel, pine, citrus, and sweet fruits like apples or peaches, plus some barnyard funk as it warms. Beautiful cloudy orange, huge light orange head, great lacing. Taste of citrus, pine, and sweet malts, balanced by a funky Brett tartness. I think, at least right now, that I prefer this to the usual Hop Devil. Miver (477), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 On draft at Victory for grand reopening. Poured cloudy amber in color with a large bubbly sticky head. Aroma of citrus and piney hops with subtle hints of brett. Taste is similar to HopDevil with a different funky yeast backbone. Grapefruit, and piney hop flavors present with a hint of brett. The brett funkiness was certainly hidden at tap temp. I let my glass sit for an hour or more and it made it quite enjoyable. Very nice.
