tytoanderso (1198), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 #1100 500ml hand bottle. Mostly earthy hops on the nose with a small hint of sour funk. Earthy and tangy from the hops and just slightly sour from the brett. Pours a dark, hazy copper with a thin film of white on top leaving spotty lacing down the sides of my glass. Zesty grapefruit and earthy hops. A decent cracker like malt backbone with just the smallest hint of funk on the finish. Grassy, earthy with some sweetness on the finish. Mostly full bodied. Lush and creamy on the tongue with a zesty, hoppy finish. Fairly standard Belgian ale. Thanks for the rare treat Joe!

fredandboboflo (625), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 17, 2008 On tap at Blind Tiger. Aroma of pears, apples, earth, the color red. Flavor extremely interesting: sourness (more earthy than sour, but still sour), funk, spicy hops, tons of Belgian yeast (other than Brett), fruity/sweet esters (tangy mango, citrus, strawberry), a touch of pixie stix. A very nice mix of the Belgian yeast with that classically American base. Again, interesting is the best word (good interesting). JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pale amber coloured beer with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty nice, light pale malts, some crisp and lightly earthy character with a bit of minerally character over a lightly caramelly maltiness. The flinty bretty dryness is starting to show on the palate as well, underneath a soft zesty hoppiness. The beer will probably continue to evolve and dry out as there is still quite a bit of maltiness in the back. Fairly assertive spicy hoppiness. I quite like it. boto (1224), Granby, Connecticut, USA Jul 13, 2008 Draught @ Victory: This one pours a hazy, orangish color. There is a small off-white head that leaves some lacing. Citrus hops to the nose, but a bit more subdued than the Hop Devil. Some malts in the aroma also. The taste is quite good. A bit of sourness from the Brett is noticeable. A good bit of hoppiness (grapefruit mostly on top), as well a fairly decent amount of malts. Some spices also. Very Nice!
