Pretty nice style. Nice coriander and spice. Pale yellow with nice haze. Gods residual sugars and touch of crisp refreshing palate feel. Belgium is obvious but American style peeks out too. Tap

Pours a very cloudy, pale golden yellow color with a two finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Pretty good retention, taking a while to fade and leaving streaks of soapy lacing behind. Slightly earthy aroma with some peppery spice , strong bread/yeast character, banana and citrus peel. Everything is somewhat muted making the nose a bit bland. As it warms, the bread/yeast and citrus notes stand out a bit more. Decent lemon peel and juicy citrus peel presence but it could use some more spice and less bubblegum/banana character. Medium body with tight carbonation and dry, hop bitterness that lingers over the peppery spice, bread, banana and tart citrus into a dry finish. The hop flavor is a nice compliment to the peppery clove presence but it clashes a bit with the other wheat beer notes. Underneath the hops and spice, Iím picking up malted wheat and lots of bread flavored yeast as well as some banana and bubblegum. Lots of juicy citrus in the finish especially tart lemon juice and zesty lemon peel. Light and easy to drink with a well masked ABV but a bit too hoppy for my preference. Sessionable but I donít think I would want to drink more than a couple of these in one sitting.

(bottle) Pours a semi-hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is big on Bartlett pear (fresh cut, not canned), white pepper, clove, and Juicy Fruit chewing gum. Not getting any banana at all here. Flavor holds abundant pear (fresh, then transitioning towards pear flavored sparkling water), vanilla, some banana here, chewing gum, white pepper, and a little clove on the finish with a tiny wheat snap and lingering bready yeast. Mouthfeel is medium and carb is lively. Overall this is an OK wheat ale, hefe, weizenbock type of thing.

Poured into a hefe glass. 3.75 A: Murky dark yellow color. Two fingers of frothy white head. Retention is good and a half finger of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Good spiciness in this, just like any good hefe. Clove and pepper are equally potent. Neutral wheat, yeasty breadiness. Smells damn good. 3.5 T: The taste is good, but the nose is better. Less clove and pepper, but still some. Neutral wheat. The yeastiness is more powerful than the other flavors. Itís not bad, but doesnít stand out either. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good lively carbonation. Could be creamier. 3.5 D: Itís okay, but doesnít stand out. ★ 615 characters DavoleBomb, Apr 05, 2014
