12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy straw color with lots of suspended yeast floaties in the body. The head is a three finger white shade. Its texture is very soapy, and its retention is decent. Splotchy patches of lacing are left behind. As a *witbier*, itís really good looking. S: Thereís a nice spice note, evoking black pepper, coriander, and sage. Some wheat hides behind this nicely, coming out more strongly as it warms up. The aroma is inviting if not mindblowing. T: In general, the predominant flavor is íspicyí. Note of coriander and black pepper give way to a finish of subtle orange peel. Wheat and candied sugar linger as secondary notes throughout. Really, itís just a slightly sweeter than normal witbier, but the execution is damn solid. The sweetness never gets overwhelming. M: I love how crisp this one is. Thereís just enough sweetness to give it a thirst quenching quality, and the heartiness betrays its roots as both a winter ale and a high ABV wit. Carbonation is somewhat low for the style, and that helps its former qualities become amplified slightly. O: This is not a dunkel, but a wit. And a good one. Itís one of those rare brews that would work in both winter and summer equally well. While itís not what I expected, it still managed to be a very satisfying beer - one that I could drink multiple servings of. Donít mind if I do...

Whoa... Not what I was expecting. I was figuring this would be your usual hopped up wheat but itís got a spicy/fruity yeast thing going on like a Belgian or a hefeweizen. Itís slightly cloudy and pale yellow. Itís head is huge and of mixed, foamy bubbles. As it dissipates, it leaves behind lace is great patches. This comes first w/ citrus from the hops w/ banana and clove that meld in to back it up. This is a full bodied beer w/ a creamy texture from gentle carbonation but it is only just slightly sweet, enough to highlight the juiciness of the banana. There is a mild tartness as it progresses which brings out a lemon note as well. It finishes w/ a mild earthy bitterness, a lingering touch of sugar and some fruit and spice. This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I am not always a fan of Victory but this is a damn good one.

Bottle. Light gold color with a big head. Aroma is weak watery. Taste is also weak, watery, bad flavor upfront and nasty finish.

Bottle from State Line. Pour was golden with thin frothy head. Aroma of cloves. Sweet fruity flavor, thick wheat and cloves. Not a lot of complexity, but I dug it.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A big fruity nose, banana and citrus. The flavor is bubblegum, banana, citrus, big oranges, smooth toasted malts. Quite good. Smooth, but pretty big.

16oz pour at Smoke and Barrel is a hazy yellow with some frothy, white head. Nose strikes a nice balance between estery hef with mild clove, coriander, straw and Euro pale ale, lemon, pine, grass. Flavor is the same, grassy, lightly herbal, mild spice, a little chewy malt, some orange. Clean, zesty finish. Very enjoyable.

Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow with a big whipped egg white head. Mild citrusy aroma. Taste is sweet pale malt, fresh French bread, citrus and clove, and very mild hops. Pretty good, since I too am not a fan of this style.

On tap at Perdition. It pours a pretty clear light golden color with a nice creamy white head. The aroma is good with fresh baked bread, light clove and just a hint of banana. The flavor is bready with some light cinnamon and clove. Hints of citrus, but Iím not getting big Citra hops in this one. The oats come through strong as itís super creamy on the palate for such a light colored beer. Modestly carbed for the style. Nice one.

Bottle best by next april. Nose is clove and/or coriander. Dusty, citrus and wheat. Not overly sweet. This beer might have tasted bettter were I in a cheery mood. I donít get the usual playfulness of wheat beers from this one. Love the brewery, shrug at the style, and this is what I get: raised eye brow.
