3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a hazy yellow with thin, fluffy, white head. Nose of wheat, banana, citrus, tropical fruit, grass, some coriander and clove. Medium body, light bitterness on the finish. Typical wheat beer flavors with some decent hop flavor coming through. I was avoiding this, anticipating and overly spiced winter beer but this is change of pace. Lightly hoppy wheat beer. Iíd definitely drink it again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold body under a rather large foamy white head that took forever to fade. The nose is lightly spicy with some phenolic notes, minimal yeast, and pale wheat. The flavor is pretty similar, a little heavier on the clove than I expected. Some light banana on the finish with some light yeast. Pretty simple and up front Wheat beer. Light bodied and soft in texture with fine prickly carbonation. Meh, not a favorite from them for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy straw color with lots of suspended yeast floaties in the body. The head is a three finger white shade. Its texture is very soapy, and its retention is decent. Splotchy patches of lacing are left behind. As a *witbier*, itís really good looking.
S: Thereís a nice spice note, evoking black pepper, coriander, and sage. Some wheat hides behind this nicely, coming out more strongly as it warms up. The aroma is inviting if not mindblowing.
T: In general, the predominant flavor is íspicyí. Note of coriander and black pepper give way to a finish of subtle orange peel. Wheat and candied sugar linger as secondary notes throughout. Really, itís just a slightly sweeter than normal witbier, but the execution is damn solid. The sweetness never gets overwhelming.
M: I love how crisp this one is. Thereís just enough sweetness to give it a thirst quenching quality, and the heartiness betrays its roots as both a winter ale and a high ABV wit. Carbonation is somewhat low for the style, and that helps its former qualities become amplified slightly.
O: This is not a dunkel, but a wit. And a good one. Itís one of those rare brews that would work in both winter and summer equally well. While itís not what I expected, it still managed to be a very satisfying beer - one that I could drink multiple servings of. Donít mind if I do...

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Pleasant wheaty aroma with banana, a bit of clove and a bit of citrus. Sweetish fruity wheaty flavor with mild spiciness and a slightly bitter finish. Easy-drinking. A good wheat beer, quite German in character.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/16/2014. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy bright golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, wheat, bread, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, malt, and hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, wheat, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a god bit. Very nice complexity and balance of malt, hop, and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; very a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good hefeweizen. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, hop, and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 2/16/14
Aroma: The nose is wheaty and spicy, clove, citrus, floral notes, some yeast, and banana
Appearance: It pours a gold-orange color with a quite large white head and frothy lacework
Flavor: Tastes strong and spicy, lots of clove and wheat, with citrus and floral balancing flavors
Palate: The body is medium it has a lively carbonation, and a long, tingly, dry, and spicy finish
This is one of the most flavorful and well-made wheat beers that I have tried in. recent memory. The spice is probably the standout here, but the other flavor all bring something nice to the table. Well-made and enjoyable stuff.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of bubble gum, candy/sugar, lemon/orange zest, coriander, grains of paradise.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Canít say that I agree with the commercial description...this is way more in the Witbier direction with prominent notes of citrus and coriander (whether or not coriander is in it)...no clove at all. The Witbier reaction was knee-jerk as soon as I took the first whiff. But itís more gummy and sugary than a Witbier normally is, so itís ultimately just an overly sweet, weird mish-mash. Not that fond of it, but itís ok.
