COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tenacious grip of big, juicy hop aroma and character slides smoothly into rich, dark malts. This heavyweight battle between fresh, Yakima Valley hops and dark, roasted malts is resolved harmoniously as the flavors merge to deliver complex satisfaction with a warming edge. Enjoy the ‘twilight’ for the bright and brassy hops!

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2010 On tap at Lucky Dog Saloon, Lafayette Hill, PA. Pours dark amber/brown/red with a small amount (1inch tops) of thick head which dissipates in a few minutes. Aroma is mild and is of icky sticky citrusy-pine hops. Taste is of a wide variety of hops. No one hop flavor (e.g. pine, grapefruit, orange, lemon or other fruit) stands out, yet they’re all present. It’s a fairly thick beer with a lot of carbonation. Originally, I thought this would be classified as an IIPA, but when I tasted it, it seemed to fit more in the category of a strong ale, which it is. Either way, it’s a beer with a very strong, if not sticky, malt backbone and copious amounts of hops. I did think there was a bit too much carbonation which took away from the mouthfeel and turned it into a gurgling mess. I did very much like this beer and would absolutely drink it again. Definitely worth a taste.

dark amber pour light off white head strong floral hop aroma light malt detected as well .... taste of straight hop ... a citrus blast and a worthy heir as a seasonal to hop wallop ... spicy finish that really smacks you hides the abv very well ... if you love hops this is for you

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a tan head and a brown body. Aroma of what smells like simcoe, herbal and dankness. Taste is really herbal, fresh and hoppy with grass, pine needles and caramel. Medium carbonation. Nice!

Tap at Toronado for special Victory day during San Diego Beer Week. Pours a deep amber/copper color with only small layer of foam. Aroma of mellow hops -- herbs, pine, citrus, flowers. Flavor is full of brighter greener hops but there is also a lot of well-balanced malt goodness in there as well. Flavor reminds me of a mellower Stone 13th Anniversary. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel with a tangy bitter finish. Feels a little light relative to the strength.

12oz bottle. This one pleasantly took me by surprise. Pours a dark amber with a rich creamy head that lingers. Excellent hop and pine tastes much like some of my favorite IPAs but different somehow. Alcohol is extremely well masked. A great brew!

On cask during Victory night @ the Pony Bar. Pint glass which I then captured for my taking! Pours a deep brown with excellent 3 finger off white head atop. Hoppy, grainy, with fig. Perhaps a splash of citus. Alcohol hidden very well. I thought this was great!

dark amber pour with a small off white head. Aroma is pine tar and grass. Flavor is all pine. The malt tries to pull through but it can’t. Finishes beyond bitter, and I love hops. I could barely get through 2 ounces. Very interesting and I’m glad to have tried it.

Bottle. 12 oz. Pours hazy amber, with a thick, pillowy off-white head. Aroma of bitter hops, pepper, roasted malts, and hints of dried cherries. Full bodied with a very clean, crisp mouthfeel. Finish packs quite a bite. Very nice American strong from Victory.
