COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tenacious grip of big, juicy hop aroma and character slides smoothly into rich, dark malts. This heavyweight battle between fresh, Yakima Valley hops and dark, roasted malts is resolved harmoniously as the flavors merge to deliver complex satisfaction with a warming edge. Enjoy the ‘twilight’ for the bright and brassy hops!

Pours transparent brown with a hint of red. Aroma is a combo of citrus and floral hop notes. The flavor has a nice malt punch followed by a slightly bitter hop finish. Good mouthfeel. Solid.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2010 Pours a dark red; citric aroma. This is essentially a very hoppy barley wine, or a double ipa with big malt front. Hops don’t feel fresh here, but I’m getting a more floral variety of the hop. Barley wine style caramel malt balance with a double ipa aggressive hop finish. The hops and malt intermingle to get an almost watermelon jello taste at times. Orange rind flavor comes out as it warms, 8.7% is not detectable. No real roast, or stout characters. Quite good, strong beer.

The pour is a dark red with some very thick head that laces quite well. Smell has a really strong hop profile, almost too much. On the taste, the fresh hops are so strong that its almost like earwax. However, it is tempered from this by a decent malt backbone. On the aftertaste the pine comes through quite well. Though this beer is almost too agressive to be enjoyed by a casual beer drinker, it certainly is great for those who see Arrogant Bastard as too timid.

Dark, clear, amber pour with a big off-white head. Hoppy aroma with a touch of dark fruit sweetness. flavor is big, hoppy, smooth, and a slightly sweet, malty finish. Excellent brew.

On tap at Tony’s Place in Ivyland. Color is a deep rich red / brown. Head is not strong. Smells of hops hit your nose. Maybe Crystal hops? I would say this beer is more hop heavy than malt. Alcohol is well hidden under hop kick.

pours a dark brown almost black, but can see though with light in the back. Fluffy tan head. the aroma is grape fruit, and citrus. the flavor is roasty, but with lots of hop flavor and bitterness. the hops are rigth up front to the end, but the after taste is largely the roasted malt. the hops are grapefruit, citrus, and your normal american hop flavors. overall this is pretty good, i would def buy again. it hids the high amount of alcohol very well, i didnt even realize it had that much until i read the bottle.
