The tenacious grip of big, juicy hop aroma and character slides smoothly into rich, dark malts. This heavyweight battle between fresh, Yakima Valley hops and dark, roasted malts is resolved harmoniously as the flavors merge to deliver complex satisfaction with a warming edge. Enjoy the ‘twilight’ for the bright and brassy hops!

bottle- big time bitterness up front- an interesting aroma- near solvent like- fusels perhaps- with some hop contributed fruitiness. Taste is hop dominated- grapefruit, pine, balanced by a nice roasty flavor- good, but worth the praise/hype it’s gotten thus far? Not quite.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a moderate offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and resin hops. Taste is very hoppy with big sticky resinous notes along with some wood notes. Berry-like notes in the finish. Medium bodied.

Draught in a pint glass during a connection at Philadelphia Int. Airport. Caramel and roasty malt aroma. Thin, light caramel head that sticks around while you drink it, decent lace, dark blood red/caramel color. Flavor is what you expect from a winter seasonal American strong ale- bitter hops dominating the sweet without completely snuffing them out, light spice (subtle, but i wanted more), and a very satisfying malt aftertaste. At 8.7abv, this beer hides its booze well. Fair warning.

12oz bottle: Pours to a dark amber-brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is spruce, citrus hops, along with mild hints of licorice, roasted malt, light chocolate and a bit of over-ripe plum. The taste is bitter citrus/earthy hops up front, with a bit of fruity, almost strawberry hops next, then dry chocolate/roasted malt, a bit of fried banana, mild alcohol flavor, and then more hops. Finishes with a bit of earthy, grassy hops and bits of roasted malt, though definitely much milder roast flavor than that of a porter. Medium bodied, medium carbonated.

Pours a deep rich amber color with a tan head. Aroma is toast, biscuit, some roast, grassy, earthy, and some citrus. Flavor is caramel, biscuit, roast, and a bitter slightly astringent citrus finish.

Pours a clear, dark reddish/amber with tan head. Aroma of citrusy hops, roasted caramel malts, hint of grapefruit. Similar taste, although spicy with a dry, warm finish. Not one of my favorite offerings from Victory.

A very intriguing brew. Looks like a brown ale, but has a massive amount of hops thrown in. It taste is like a charred IPA or something. I will re rate this later.

12 oz. bottle; clear dark brown with glowing red glow against the light; foamy light tan head fading to a soapy film; big dirty hop nose with some caramel and chocolate; earthy, almost dank, dry, leafy hops; digging the nose for sure; light caramel texture with bitter dry bitter bite on first sip; doughy malt and resinous bitterness; pine, spice and a little astringent; a dirty ASA

Bottle, has a clear ruby pour with a large light tan & pale yellow head, there is some sediment in the bottle and little particles in the beer, so, this beer is not filtered, aromas of caramel, citrus and light fruit hops, roasted malt, brown sugar, little chocolate fragrances in the background, flavors of caramel, roasted malt, some candy and caramel sweetness, has a good hop bitterness at the finish, some malts and hops follow after the finish, the fight between the hops and malt in this beer end in the hops winning by a little bit, mouth feel is more than medium, feels a little sticky, good amount of carbonation gives a creamy feel on the tongue, if you like hops, you will like this beer, the alcohol is a bit more apparent than I would like and transgressed a bit.
