Maker: Vielanker Brauhaus Beer: Vielanker Pilsener (bottled, 500ml) Style: German Pilsener ALC.VOL.: 4.8% Colour: Yellow golden, hazy(!), big white head. Nose: Sour yeast, citrus, bit of hops. Texture: Not too watery, medium-bodied, not as fizzy as many Pilseners (mild carbonation!) Taste: Floral hops are much more noticeable than with most Pilsener-style brews; one is looking in vain, thankfully, for the patented cardboard notes that come with Warsteiner et al. The hops come with a citrusy note, too, and some yeast. Middle is lightly hoppy, yeasty, minus the critic note. Finish floral and only very moderately bitter, smooth, balanced. Short aftertaste of yeast. Impressions: A pleasantly original German Pilsener, far removed from the plastery mainstream brands.

Mild rezent.

Very nice lasting white head over a clear, solid yellow color beer. Small but clean aroma. Nice hoppy taste with distinct bitterness that lingers a bit. Very nice fermented to give low sweetness and a perfect body for a pilsner.

0,5 l swing top bottle. Clear golden in the glass, huge white head. Fruity grassy on the nose. Starts more slim and malty with hints of citrus. Later more a typical Pilsener bitterness. Nice Pilsener.

Geruch herb, grasig, leicht getreidig. Geschmack startet bitter hopfig, grasig.

Bottle. A hazy, golden beer with a small, white head that lasts. The aroma has caramel maltyness, some pale malts, a touch of grass and pine cones. Pretty boring. The same goes for the flavor. It’’s less on the caramel side, and more on the pale malts side, but the pine cones and grass are more or less the same. Lacks a bit on bitterness I think. Medium body, quite dry, with a nice carbonation level. Bitter finish with pale malts. Well, sure decent, but a tad boring, and I don’t like the caramel touch. 140111
