London Gathering Nov 05: Clear brown with a beige head. Simple choc malts flavours, with a suprising tart edge. Drinkable, but I suspect this bottle was tainted.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours out in a deep black colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of malt and toffee. Taste of bittersweet chocolate, malt, raisins, plums, nuts, torf and dark grains. Average Schwarzbier but just not that bad like many others. Not great either.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. I am happy to go completely against the grain. This is without doubt the worst smelling beer I have ever had. I have never rated a beer with a 1 for aroma (I don’t think so anyway) until now. Very dark brown beer with thin beige head. Farty fireworks aroma. Bit sour. Frankly not very nice. And that aroma.....
Have entered a default score here, but my original score was 1.1

500ml flip-top bottle kindly shared by KnutAlbert at the second day of the great Absalon Tasting session. Decent beige head resting on top of a deep, rosewood coloured body. Smell of slightly burnt dark malts. Brittle caramel malts and liquorice in flavour. Gets very sweet in the ending partially offset by some roastiness (Copenhagen, hotel room 13.05.2012).
