Aug 27, 2005 A hazy red-brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, while the mouthfeel is slightly carbonated. A very nice schwarzbier.

Sep 15, 2006 Draught. Sweet, spicy, roasted aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small head. Roasted flavour, nicely balanced with sweetness.

Nov 16, 2005 Bottle. I want to try a fresher sample, coz this was sour, and slightly infected. Brown, sugar, sweet caramel, berries mixed in with an strange sourness, lactic sourness. very all over the place.

Nov 14, 2005 Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. I am happy to go completely against the grain. This is without doubt the worst smelling beer I have ever had. I have never rated a beer with a 1 for aroma (I don’t think so anyway) until now. Very dark brown beer with thin beige head. Farty fireworks aroma. Bit sour. Frankly not very nice. And that aroma.....

Jul 23, 2005 Draught at the brewpub. Deep reddish dark brown coloured. Loads of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt with notes of toffee. Very smooth and soft. Rather hoppy for a Schwarzbier. Dry and bitter finish. Perfectly balanced. Full bodied for a Schwarzbier.
