Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 19, 2008 Draft. A brown beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with lots of bread notes. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw, caramel, and bread. Nice, but a bit light bodied. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 10, 2008 Bottled. Mahogany colour, firm head. Molasses and hazelnuts up front. Medium sweet and mediu bodied with rounded mouthfeel. The concentrated roasty flavour with licorice and chocolate makes it almost porterlike. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Feb 11, 2006 Tap@Battersea Beer Festival. Very easy going, and it almost slips down your throat without you noticing. Some bready/grainy malt flavours, with touches of caramel. Very innofensive, and very neutral, but not in a thin boring sort of way. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 11, 2006 On tap at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Deep chestnut with lasting creamy head. Some sweetish malt on aroma, nice enough in mouth some cream, some smoke, a little burnt malt, drinkable inoffensive. Hoppy finish, not as much flavour as you might expect. Just enough on the finish to keep you interested. Slightly chewy finish. I think Duff and I decided that we could end up drinking quite a bit of this. TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Nov 6, 2005 Bottled as "Export Dunkel" (BB 12/2005)
Dark ruby brown, good creamy tanned head. Lemony hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty, some bitterish hops in the finish. Good balanced dunkel, which is finishing to dry, a bit roasted malty notes. Drinkable but not unforgettable.
