3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
from bottle. pours a clear, dark amber red colour with a small, frothy beige head that quickly disappears however. aroma is mainly roasted malts, nuts and a touch of caramel. quite high carbonation, light to medium body and kind of dry texture. really pleasent malty flavours and lots of nuts end in a fine, slightly bitter and dry aftertaste. good balance of sweet- and bitterness. highly drinkable stuff...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
0,5 l bottle under the name Vierzehnheiligen Nothelfer Trunk. Thanks to TJ, my second son. Dark red brown in the glass, big light tanned foamy head. Looks really good. Malty and light metallic on the nose. Tastes malty, light sweetness, grainy hints, little bit sourish in the middlepart, more malt in the aftertaste. Easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
"Vierzehnheiligen Nothelfer Trunk" Look; beige head and clear copper-mahogany body. Aroma; forgotten bowl of dark fruits, basement, berries, wet dark caramel, grass. Taste; dark malts, notes of prunes, notes of cocoa - leading to a fruity finish becoming somewhat dry and malty cocoaish, just average lasting. Normal texture and soft carbonation. Not bad. 3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, from Vroni’s in Bamberg. Pale chestnut, good off white head and moderate condition. Initial caramel aroma leading into some rosted notes and a touch of hops. Sweetly malty with a biscuity edge and more roasted barley but with a chemical note coming through with time. Dominant caramel and delicate hops in the finish.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle at Quinns. Smokey metalic nose. Dark amber body with reasonable head and lace. Malty flavour with a bitter smokey finish. Little thin in the palate. Straight forward but enjoyable enough.
