2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Bottle, Pelgrims, Aarschot) Clear dark amber colour, amberish too fast disappearing head.
Hoppy aroma, alcohol, dark fruits, guar, earth, grass. Taste is monotomous milt sweet, aftertaste more bitter. Lacks complexity.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Golden-amber, very heavily carbonated beer to fluffy, very fine amberish head, leaving shards of lace. Herbal & caramelly nose, fresh smelling, malt & parsley. Mild sweet beer, bit of caramel. Very remote smokey flavour retronasal. And thatís it. Totally, utterly empty palate, very soft MF (carbonation fast gone). Dull, dull, dull.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle at Le Poechenellekelder, Brussels) Golden, with a nice lasting offwhite head. Malty, nutty flavor with some toffee. Malty flavor, toffee, then it turns more bitter. Quite thin compared to other belgian beers.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
(Bottled, BBE 01/2006) Clear amber color with a tight white head. Slightly sour-aciduc-plastic-cardboardy aroma. Some maltiness, but mostly plastic and cardboard in the flavor. Light-bodied, almost watery palate with lemonadey carbonation. A very lightweight, tasteless and quite disapointing brew.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Vieux Temps used to be on of the best known light Wallonian ales, when it was brewed at the Mont St. Guibert facility. But InBev hasnít really done much to promote this in recent years. Beautiful amber colour. A dry bitterness not that different from a pils. Some caramel. Light body. My version was 5% ABV. 071093

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pouring a rich golden color with a diminuitive head, this has a very fruity nose with aromas of plums and cherries. Spritzy in the mouth, it has a pleasant sweet malty taste, still with the fruits, and a subtle hint of smokiness. Refreshing ale.
