Tripplebrew (242), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jun 22, 2008 Pours a mostly clear amber copper with a think layer of white head that inevitable dissipates quickly. Aroma is very light. Light notes of caramel. Flavor is bland with notes of caramel, fruit (apple) and a little hops. Body is light. Almost no carbonation. As with all Viking beers the carbonation problem holds. Baumgartner (42), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jun 11, 2008 Bottle poured into a glass. Very little carbonation and head. Not very impressed. lovemyipas (416), sw burbs, Illinois, USA Mar 10, 2008 pours a cloudy burnt orange with a thin tan head. aroma is mostly malt with a dash of hops. has a light body with a trace of lacing and good carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma with a little watered down apple cider and is a bit stronger. has a little dry aftertaste but is somewhat watered down. a dunkel? KeithD (203), Outer Space, Congo Feb 12, 2008 Updated: Jun 24, 2008I’m exited about anything having to do with vikings, so this beer had better kick ass. Pours a dark red-amber with disappointing carbonation, practically no head whatsoever, almost looks flat. I see a few other reviewers noticed the same thing. Aroma is bizarre, like buttery yeast or MARGARINE. Flavor is the same but with a bit more roasty malt. Mouthfeel is awkward, it’s really slippery on the palate has the viscosity of water with a yeasty, musty flavor, and a slightly bitter iodine-like aftertaste. This tastes like it was made in a bathtub. incutrav (491), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Sep 29, 2007 Nothing to great here by any means. I got kina a weird after taste, but the beer was fairly bland to me
