ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 2, 2005 Flat light orange-ruby body, head dissipating into mere memory in under 30 seconds. Aroma is cardboard, flavor is soapy, mouthfeel is flat with approximately 6 small CO2 bubbles per large gulp. Reminiscent of crappy expired Spitfire cask swill a London pub was trying hard to give away five years ago. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2005 Lack of sufficient carbonation is really a downfall here. Tastes like soap and vinegar got into it or something. Aroma and finish differ in no respect. Look is rather lackluster copper-ruby color. This brewery puts out plenty of fine, sometimes avant-garde brews. My personal tendency would be to ignore this one, though its overall rating is obviously otherwise. In all fairness I will sample some other representatives of this style to see if it will lead to a revision of this rating. JPDIPSO (4187), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 19, 2004 Amber to copper color with a smaller light beige head. Light caramel aromas with a touch of celery. Mild toasted malt flavors. touch of bitterness. Quite boring. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Sep 12, 2004 Brick Red Coloring. Good Head. Some Hops Aroma. Purchased in Bottle with Badgerben. Mild Hops. Not Overpowering.. Decent Brew. badgerben (3001), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 8, 2004 Copper color with a medium head. Hops and caramel on the nose. Definitely tasted of Saaz hops. On the drier side than I’ve typically had for a Helles. This is available in bottles now.
