12oz bottle acquired in trade with robertsreality (thanks!). Poured a medium and hazy (hazier as I got to the bottom of the bottle) amber with a very small sized off white head. Leafy aromas with caramel, tea and wet leaves. Tastes were harder to pick out - tea, caramel and citrus. Lighter tastes and bordering on watery. Thinner body. Definitely not your typical USA IPA.

Disclaimer: I’m rating this purely on style. This tastes absolutely nothing like an IPA. If it were an amber, that would make perfect sense. I think I got duped with this one. Now granted, I’ve been keeping my beers piss warm lately with this refridgerated beer strike I’ve gone on lately. But no way in God’s green earth is this an IPA. Am I on drugs or are they on drugs?! Clear orange, nice big froth head. Aroma immediately assumes a malt bomb. Taste has some sweetness possibly from that citra hop that’s been being passed around everywhere. light fruit, pineapple perhaps. Like i said, if it was an amber, i would rate it a 3.2 somewere around there. but it’s suppsed to be an IPA. not a chance in hell."

bottle. amber-caramely-copper colored pour topped by an off white head. it smells quite floral and soapy... along with notes of ginger, toffee and grain. same goes for the flavor... toffee, florals, cinnamon, tea and grain with a slight bitterness on the finish. medium bodied. crisp yet creamy. meh. 5/4/5/3/11/2.8

12oz bottle. Pours a thick orange-brown color with a minimal white head. The aroma is sweet and earthy, some mild hoppiness in there. The taste is a little off for an IPA, sweet and lemony with a metallic bite, in a lot of ways closer to an APA. There is certainly a hop presence, but it is too jumbled and altogether below par for the style. Pretty weak offering

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear light orange color. Head was thin, white, and reduced quickly to a thin film. A bit of lace was left behind. This is an IPA, but I didn’t smell any hops, just a some apple juice and husky grain. The flavor was similar with a bonus metallic flavor. There was mild to moderate hop bitterness that peaked at about 3 out of 10, but not any appreciable hop flavor. And I though the Lime Twist was bad.

I didn’t have a good feeling about this beer from the pour. It seemed rather...flat. There was very little head to accompany a rather faint amber color. Aroma was similarly disconcerting...sometimes you can tell a thin mouthfeel just from the smell, and this was one of those times. Aroma itself was lightly cereal-y, and more grainy than hoppy. The hop presence that I could detect was faintly floral (geraniol) but didn’t have much else to it. Flavor was thin, lightly floral but with a weird malty bitterness I did not care for. There was also some weird metallic bitterness that I couldn’t get over. Mouthfeel was thin. IMO, this is a drain pour. SurlySober gave me this bottle, for which I am grateful.

Hmm. Another Viking with almost no carbonation. Seems to be an ongoing thing with their beers. Grainy hay aromas. So this is supposed to be an IPA, but the hops are faint and mildly soapy. This would compare more with something like a bitter, as opposed to IPA. Thin bodied, soft malts, somewhat flat. Not very inspired, pretty weak for an IPA. Rename it a lager, and then we would be talking.

Yet another underwhelming brew from Viking. Just so blah. Watery, basically no hops going on in it, i thought it was a lager. I dont know about these guys, the only decent beer i have had was the Whole Stein, and that wasnt anything to amazing either.

hazy amber, thin fine off white head, touch of lace, dry malt and earthy hop aroma, big hop flavor, a bit of lactic tartness that fades, sweetness eventually comes out to balance

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a smallish off white head. Aroma is faint caramel malt, some hoopy notes. Flavor is weak caramel, some bitter hops notes. Palate is rather weak, thin body, mildly carbonated, finishes dry and watery. Not very good at all.

Thanks to skyview for the pour. A pale copper color with minimal hops. Faint hop aroma. Malt and hops with a hint of pine on the body. For an IPA, this needs some serious hops. Probably the first disappointing viking beer I’ve had.
