Our Stout was first produced in 2008 and was the first Icelandic Stout. Dark, roasted aroma, espresso beans, dark chocolate and cocoa are words that can be used to describe our Stout. It is intense in texture and character, yet relatively easy drinking and balanced.

Poured from the bottle into a tall glass to drink. The beer had a dark brown-black color with a silky consistency, featuring an average-sized, creamy dark tan head that had short retention but good cling. The aroma was mostly dark and malty, featuring coffee, some chocolate and caramel, a touch of dark fruit and some grainy hops too. Its taste was sweet and bitter, with components of coffee and chocolate, and some grain too. It had a wet, creamy body with lower carbonation, and a dry finish with a slight presence of alcohol.

Great beer. Pours nicely, with a foamy head. Great taste, with chocolate, burned aftertaste. Great differences in taste between bottle and draft. Much much better from draft.

Bottled: Black color, creamy brownish head. Malty aroma, dark chocolate and lots of cacao. Also fruitiness and notes of molasse. Flavor is malty, light sweet and very tasty. Also intensive notes of dry cacao, chocolate, fruity. Finish with roasted malt and roasted malt bitterness. Very tasty stout with pleasant cacao notes.

Thanks Mirjukka for bringing this over from Iceland. Black beer with beige head. Roasted and licorice aromas. Full body and flavour with some sweetness. Not bad at all for a sweetish stout.

Bottle from Vinbod. Lovely aroma of coffee and chocolate. Light and smooth, yet fine body. No need to drin any boring Irish stout in Iceland if this is available. I’d love to try this on tap!

Thanks to turdferguson for sharing this and dickinsonbeer for sending it to him. Pours a dark black with some light and a one finger crisp light tan head. Looks nice. Nose is earthy, sweet, some light caramelly notes, English leaning. Flavor is roasty, some diacetyl, mild grain bitterness, sweet/caramel notes, leafy hop feel. Palate is crisply carbonated with a mild bitterness and residual sweetness.
