Our Stout was first produced in 2008 and was the first Icelandic Stout. Dark, roasted aroma, espresso beans, dark chocolate and cocoa are words that can be used to describe our Stout. It is intense in texture and character, yet relatively easy drinking and balanced.

Great beer. Pours nicely, with a foamy head. Great taste, with chocolate, burned aftertaste. Great differences in taste between bottle and draft. Much much better from draft.

Thanks to haukur for this generous gift. Deep black beer with a thick creamy brown head. Aroma is rich with loads of cocoa and chocolate and a rich charry roastiness. A softly lactic character as well. Flavour is really nice. Rich and toasty and heavily roasted but with almost no bitterness. Softly chocolatey and lightly herbal as well. It’s quite a lovely brew. Nutty with some sweet espresso character. Really lovely stout. Thanks haukur.

Bottled: Black color, creamy brownish head. Malty aroma, dark chocolate and lots of cacao. Also fruitiness and notes of molasse. Flavor is malty, light sweet and very tasty. Also intensive notes of dry cacao, chocolate, fruity. Finish with roasted malt and roasted malt bitterness. Very tasty stout with pleasant cacao notes.

Nice aroma of roasted barley. Easy to drink, smooth taste, balance between the roasted notes and the alcohol. Though not a stout that will change the history of beer, it will put it’s mark on Icelandic brewing history.

Bottle from theisti. Pour is black with some brown from the light the gets through the edges. The nose is roasted with some coffee and cream. A bit of oats come though as well. The flavor has some dark chocolate cocoa made with milk, and a little bit of charred malts. A slight amount of hop bitterness. Full bodied, average carbonation, and a balanced finish. Really a nice beer.

33 cl bottle. Dark brown, medium body, nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. Roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, and a hint of licorice. A nice stout that could do with a bit more filling. Unquestionably the best beer from Víking.

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving trailing lace. Sour chocolate aromas. Smoky, dry chocolate upfront turning sweet in the lasting espresso finish.
