Pale lager, sweet - both a little malty and also corny; dusty hop pepper at the end. Not quite "bad", but fairly close. Bottle at the Brickcellar, DC.

I cannot tell this apart from Viking Lager. Are they the same? Bland, watery, fizzy, touch of floral hops. Disappointing stuff, for sure.

Indistinguishable from Eglis Gull. Fizzy, golden, watery, bland. Ack. Touch of floral hoppiness.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pale pilsener golden with a very small, lightly creamy head. Lovely hop-aromatic nose, but it’s gone in no time leaving no traces whatsoever. Some sweetness from the malt and some stickiness from the corn. Only a weak hint of hops. 230605

On Iceland Air. Boring and slightly offensive lager. If you’re looking for a rare thing to try that’s new this beer is for you. It’s not very good though.

Tap. This stuff is horrid. Clear straw clear appearance, virtually no head. Thin. There are reasons to travel to Iceland, but this is not one of them.

Tap. Another Víking brew let down by corn. It's not offensive, but the sweetness the corn lends the palate, along with that corny softness just does me no favours. Otherwise not really bad. The head stays, but over a yellowy body. Fairly weak on the palate, but I managed to drink two on the free, so it's not THAT bad.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Straw gold, thin white head and moderate condition. Initial grassiness in nose replaced by mothballs as it warms, metallic in the mouth with a little starchiness and an oily finish.

Pale yellow color. Sugar and various other adjuncts in the nose, wait.. a little hops. Body is sweet with a light organic bitterness that dries at the end. The nice bitterness saves this thing. Not as bad as I would have thought from other ratings.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2004 The thing that pops into your mind when drinking this is "water". Brewed in Akureyri in the north of Iceland, a town that maybe has the cleanest water on earth! not a bad beer, but nothing I'm thinking of buying in the near future, but not bad on the tap. Christmas beer from this brewery is quite good..
