COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Viking Páskabjór (Easter beer) gets its model from south German "Dunkel" beers. The colour is dark brown and taste wise you may find a hint of coffee, caramel, chocolade and alot of toasted bread. The beer has a good malt filling and a medium bitterness in the aftertaste.

Better than traditional american lagers with subtle roasted nutty pine bitterness. Nice dark amber color. Light lacing. Drinks easy, but perhaps too thin.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweetish malts, with some lighter grainy notes and toffee. Nice.

Bottle at Paul’s for the Blind Stout tasting. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white head. Sweet caramel and grain. Musky grain, toast and a bit of maltiness. Not a lot going on here. Toasty, caramel and grain into the finish. Drinkable.

Bottled (thanks SADESA, backlog). Deep amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is bready, mild rye, some nuttyness as well as mild metallic, toasted and chocolaty notes. Flavour is rather similar, but rather thin and really leaves no aftertaste. Rather thin body.

Large, quickly dissipating head over a copper body. Taste left lots to be desired, no real presence in the mouth. Shame.

gyllenbock (2967) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 27, 2011
Bottle, bought in Reykjavik in March 2011. Clear copper with a large head. Bread, nuts, light notes of malt. The taste reminded of a thin lager. Boring with a short aftertaste. Some notes of "rubber".

haukur (1009) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - MAR 20, 2006
2006 batch, bottled. Copar brown, nearly like a brown ale, big head but it dissapeared in nanoseconds, aroma is a bit roasted. Decent taste, roasted nuts, malt, but very watered down, it is in the right direction, but too simlpe and tasteless
